“What?” I shriek, shoving him back a step. “You have a stab wound and you let me jump all over you? What the hell is wrong with you? What were you thinking?”

Dalton rushes back into me, his hands gripping my waist as his face drops to the curve of my neck, his lips brushing over my sensitive skin. “I was thinking if I didn’t get my hands on my girl, I was going to fucking die,” he breathes, sending shivers sailing across my skin. He pulls back just enough to meet my eyes and stares heavily into them. “Now, please. Can we take you home?”

Pressing my lips into a hard line, I finally nod, and Zade lets out a heavy breath, stepping up to the back door and opening it wide. “Get in,” he mutters, his gaze dropping to Dalton’s hands on my waist, jealousy flashing in his eyes before he lifts them back to mine. “We have to go find Sawyer and Cross first.”

My eyes widen as I move toward him, excitement drumming through my veins. “They’re here too?”

Dalton steps into my back, his hand falling back to my waist. “Would they be anywhere else?”

A small flush spreads across my face, and I instantly hate myself for how good that makes me feel. I love these guys. We definitely started off with a rocky relationship, but over the past few months we’ve worked through that, and I’ve gotten to know the broody men they are inside, but that doesn’t change the fact that their loyalty belongs to Zade and the ritual. Maybe not Dalton though. He’s been fighting this since the second he realized how much he loved me, desperately trying to find a way to save me.

Needing to see the boys with my own two eyes, I go to move into the car when I pull back and step closer to Zade, my hand resting against his wide chest. Lifting my chin, I look up into those troubled eyes and force a small smile across my lips. “I know you’re only here because of the ritual, but thank you for coming,” I whisper, not having the strength to explain why I’ve needed them so much, especially after running and thinking I had what it took to do this on my own.

Pushing up on my toes, I press a small kiss to his lips, and his hands fall to my waist, holding me there and refusing to let me go. He meets my stare, those dark eyes expressing everything he’s always refused to say out loud. “Yes, I need you for the ritual, but that’s not why I’m here, and don’t pretend like you don’t know that.”

I swallow hard and shake my head, my heart pounding. “You can’t say those things to me, Zade,” I beg, needing to put space between us. “I told you not to let me fall in love with you.”

I hold his stare and there’s not an ounce of regret in his eyes, and seeing this isn’t going anywhere good, Dalton’s hand returns to my back. “Come on. I’m ready to get you home,” he says, pushing me into the car.

Stealing my gaze away from Zade’s, I go willingly into the backseat, and Dalton comes in behind me as Zade walks around to the driver’s seat. Dalton pulls me right into his lap, and I barely even notice when Zade hits the gas.

Dalton’s hands rest on my hips as we fly across the city. “You need to tell me more about this stab wound,” I demand, meeting his intense stare.

“And you need to tell me why the fuck you thought it was a good idea to run from us. Haven’t you learned anything?”

I shake my head and narrow my gaze, not giving up with this. “Stab wound, Dalton.”

Zade mutters from the driver’s seat. “You’re sitting on it.”

My eyes widen in horror, and I scramble off Dalton’s lap, hoping like fuck I didn’t just make it worse. Glancing up at him, I reach for his belt. “I need to see. Take your pants off.”

“Chill the fuck out, Firefly,” he says. “The only way you’re getting my pants off is if you’re about to suck my cock, and while I’d love to sit back and watch how deep you can take me, now’s not the time. I’m fine. Cross stitched me up. It’s barely a scratch.”

Rolling my eyes, I settle into my seat and wrap my arms over my chest, satisfied with his answer . . . for now, at least. “For what it’s worth, I would have still sucked your cock, but joke’s on you because now I’m not sucking anything.”

Dalton scoffs, his eyes sparkling with the challenge as his hand skims up my thigh. “We’ll see about that.”

A smile pulls at the corners of my mouth, and I press my lips into a hard line, trying to hide my amusement. Hell, just the thought of getting my hands on the big, pierced cock has me all hot and bothered.
