Harper curled her fingers into the corded muscles of his shoulders, trying to stabilize herself in the rush of all the sensations bombarding her. She tore her mouth from his. “Colt, I’ve never…”

“We’re not in a rush, Little girl. There’s no timeline or pressure. You’ve waited this long. You’ll know when it’s the right time for us to make love.”

“We c-could,” Harper stammered.

“Your body is ready now. Is your heart and brain?” Colt asked.

Hesitating, Harper searched his face, trying to figure out what to say. She didn’t want Colt to be turned off by her body. He could have anyone he wanted. Why would he want her? And she really wanted to have her first experience to be with a man who was going to be around for a while. Not just a casual fling.

“You’re thinking too hard, Angel. You’re not ready until I’ve helped you resolve all the concerns floating around in your mind.”

“Will that ever happen?” she blurted.

“We’ll happen. When it’s the right time.”

He seemed to be waiting for her to answer. Harper stammered, “O-okay.”

Brushing one hand through her blonde hair, Colt cupped the back of her head to pull her close. His kiss this time was sweet and tender, making her heart melt. When he lifted his head, the devastatingly handsome man looked deep in her eyes. “It’s definitely going to be way better than just okay, Angel.”

She nodded without consciously deciding to. When he chuckled, reading the surprised expression that followed her agreement, Colt said comfortingly, “It’s okay, Harper, to let Daddy please you. That’s what we’ve both always dreamed about.” He pressed a light kiss to her lips and stepped back to push his briefs to the floor. Immediately, Colt stepped into the bathtub and pulled the shower curtain around his bulk. When he started the shower, she heard his sharp inhale.

“It will get warm if you wait a few minutes.”

“I don’t need a hot shower, Angel,” he growled.

The giggle that slipped from her lips surprised Harper. When Colt pulled the top of the shower curtain back to look at her, Harper ran to the enclosed toilet area before she wet her panties laughing.

Harper had never considered how having fun together could be as bonding as sexual heat. Leave it to Colt to be the complete package: good looks, talent, success, a sense of humor, and oozing with sex appeal. After quickly taking care of business, Harper darted into the bedroom and stepped into fresh panties. Listening to the water still running in the bathroom, she decided she had enough time to finish dressing. Ripping her nightshirt over her head, Harper rushed to the dresser to find a bra with some style or sex appeal. Of course, she didn’t have any. She heard the water turn off and grabbed the plain white cotton bra on top. Fitting her breasts into the cups, she twisted her arms around her back and tried to get it hooked.

Damn! Where are they?

“Let me help you, Angel.”

Colt’s low voice sounded even lower than normal from right behind her. He brushed her hands away and quickly fastened the garment. His cool hands stroked over her sides, making her shiver. He stepped forward to whisper in Harper’s ear.

“I’m going to need a million cold showers if you don’t get clothes on.”

“I was trying,” she babbled, wrapping her arms around her rounded stomach as she kept her back to him.

Capturing her hands, Colt pulled her hands down to her sides. “Never hide from me. I have always loved you exactly the way you are.”

“Loved me?” Harper said mockingly, feeling as though he had to be making fun of her.

“Yes. I’ve always loved you, Angel. I hope you’ve known that.”

“Just like you loved all those beautiful women you’re pictured with in magazines and on TV?” Colt had never lied to her before. Why was he lying now?

“I have loved no one but you. You’ve always been my Little girl. I think my band thinks I’m asexual. They’ve dangled all types of women and men in front of me. None of them were you.” With her mind trying to figure out if what he said meant what she thought it did, Harper allowed him to turn her around to face him.

“Are you trying to tell me you’re a virgin, too?” she asked in disbelief. Her eyes locked on his face.

“I’ve never lied to you, Harper. I won’t start now. When we make love, we’ll explore how to please each other together.”

“I don’t know what to say.”

“You don’t have to say anything. It was my decision. No woman was important enough to break the commitment I felt between us.” He stroked a hand through her hair before allowing his eyes to lower and admire her body.

Harper watched his face and saw only hunger. When his gaze returned to link with hers, there was no denying that Colt felt strongly attracted to her. Watching him stroke over the revived erection tenting the towel slung low around his hips, Harper’s breath eased audibly from her lips.
