Lifting my leg in the air next, I pressed my shoulder blades into the mat, deeply breathing out at the same time, and already, the elephant on my chest lightened up. Swiftly, I changed into a standing straddle, forward bend. Grabbing onto the back of my ankles, I pulled my chest as close as it would go under my legs. I’d been doing yoga since I began college and been addicted ever since.

Never once did I open my eyes, knowing the mat by my memory alone. Slowly, I slid to the ground and lay on my back. Raising my hips to the air, I stretched my lower back, once again releasing another solid breath. Pumping my hips up and down a few times, I inhaled in and out. Making sure to feel the strain the movement triggered in my muscles.

Gripping the inner sides of my feet, I got into the ananda balasana pose, which basically looked like an upside-down frog. Letting my breathing go long and deep, I was about to change positions.

Except when I opened my eyes for the first time, I loudly gasped, causing my butt to wiggle in this extremely sexual position.

“How long have you been standing there?”

Ethan smiled, bright and bold. “Long enough to feel like I should be throwing money at you, but instead, I’m just enjoying the free show.”

I let go of my feet and shot up. “You’re horrible. Your plane must have landed early.”

“I love the welcome I come home to. Maybe next time, you should do yoga in a bikini instead.”

“You wish,” I baited.

“That little number you’re wearing doesn’t leave much to the imagination.”

I was in a sports bra and spandex booty shorts.

“I thought I was alone.”

“Here I thought this warm welcome was for me, but don’t stop on my behalf. I can help you stretch those tight muscles. You know, get you nice and wet if you need me to.”

“Ethan!”

“What?” He innocently shrugged. “Sweating is good for you.”

I smirked at him.

“Do you know that you make sex noises when you’re doing what you call yoga, right?”

“I do not.”

“I’m very familiar with your sex noises, Livvy. You could probably call me a pro, considering I taught you everything you love.”

My eyes widened. “Have you been drinking? What’s with the trip down memory lane?”

“It doesn’t have to be a memory.”

I cocked my head to the side. “What’s gotten into you?”

He grinned, eyeing me up and down. “If you keep making noises like that, I’ll happily show you.”

I couldn’t help it. I burst out laughing.

“There’s my girl. I missed you.”

“I guess I kind of missed you,” I taunted.

He laughed, throwing his head back. His laughter was always so contagious. Making my way back into the kitchen, I was about to open the fridge when he grabbed my waist from behind and tugged me into his rock-hard chest.

“Ethan, I’m all sweaty.”

He murmured into my neck, “I like you all sweaty,” before he kissed it and let me go. “I just wanted a hug.”

I giggled. “I’m going to go shower.”

“Do you need any help in there too?”

“Oh, look at you,” I jokingly mocked. “You’re just trying to be so helpful this morning.”

“What can I say? I’m a gentleman.”

“Oh yeah? Mr. Forbes Most Eligible Bachelor. I think they use the term ‘play billionaire’ in reference to you.”

“I’ve been called worse, but they have to sell magazines, don’t they?”

“And as we all know.” I gestured to him. “Your face always sells. I can’t go into the grocery store without seeing a tabloid with you and some model of the week on it.”

He shamelessly shrugged. “They’re not always models. Besides, most of that is bullshit lies.”

“Oh, so you weren’t just in Bali with Varissa Gilati? Isn’t she the top-grossing model this year?”

He ignored my question. “It was a work trip.”

“On a private yacht with a supermodel?”

“It’s not very private if you know about it.”

“Is it serious?”

“Livvy, is it ever serious with anyone?”

“One day, you’re going to be serious about someone.”

“I don’t have time for any of that.”

“I guess that’s what happens when your app goes public, Mr. Billionaire. I still can’t believe The Ethan Carter is in my apartment.”

“Don’t let the tabloid bullshit get to you. I’m still the same man I always was.”

“I know, I’m just teasing you. What kind of best friend would I be if I didn’t give you shit for how the world loves you.”

“I don’t need the world to love.”

“But they do even though your personality doesn’t exactly speak highly for itself. Especially in the media’s eyes.”

“Well, that’s not my fucking problem. I have no interest in performing for the public like I need my dick stroked. I’m just a businessman, Livvy. I make money, and that’s all anyone needs to know.”

Hearing him talk to me with so much confident authority made me realize that my best friend had new sides of him I hadn’t seen yet. For a moment, that made me sad.
