“Oh, er, thank you.” Andi wanted to sink through the floor. Was she some kind of closet exhibitionist, acting like that? And why hadn’t Thrax done what she’d asked and just pretended to lick her?

Then again, she had to admit she’d been pressing against him and moaning as he tongued her open and rubbed his rough cheeks against her pussy. It just felt so good and it had been so long since a man had touched her—especially in a way that made her feel beautiful and desired and sexy. But did Thrax really feel that way about her? Did he really desire her like that, or had he just been playing a part?

The big Hybrid certainly didn’t seem to be faking his enthusiasm for what they’d just done. He came out from under the table as the other male-wives did the same. Meeting Andi’s eyes, he licked his lips—a slow, sensuous gesture that made her shiver.

“Fucking delicious, baby,” he growled softly. “Thank you for letting me taste you.”

Andi didn’t know what to say. She could feel her cheeks going hot with embarrassment but before she could think of a reply, Queen Pantyitch rose from her chair and nodded at the table.

“I hope you’ve all enjoyed our fine repast,” she said in that clear, ringing voice that seemed to fill the whole room. “Those of you who received prior invitations, please join me in the lounge for drinks. Everyone else, thank you so much for coming and please have a safe night as you make your way home.”

“Well, that’s our cue to leave,” Shanna told her. “I’m afraid I didn’t get one of the invites for drinks, so if you want, I’ll take you back to your ship.”

“Oh, er, thank you.” Still feeling flustered, Andi nodded. “But could you introduce me to Queen Thingybottom first?” she asked, managing to remember the mission. “I’d really like to talk to her about where she got that designer seed for her baby.”

“Well, if you want to talk to a soggy sandwich like her, who am I to stop you? Come on—I think I saw her go this way.” Shanna started to lead the way out of the vast dining hall and Andi followed her. But they hadn’t gotten five steps before one of the male servants came up to her.

“Begging your pardon, my Queen,” he said to Andi formally. “But I have come to extend you an invitation to drinks in the lounge.” He leaned closer and whispered loudly, “The invitation is from Queen Pantyitch herself.”

“Really?” Andi asked, raising her eyebrows. “But I don’t understand—I don’t even know her.”

“She was very impressed with your male-wife’s performance,” the servant said, nodding at Thrax, who was still licking his lips. “She says to tell you she has a special offer just for you.”

“You should go!” Shanna said eagerly. “It’s not every day you get a personal invitation from Pantyitch herself. I’m so jealous.”

“All right, I will.” Andi nodded—she was intrigued. They could go talk to Queen Thingybottom later, she decided. Right now, maybe speaking to the head of the Ruling Collective would get her some information she couldn’t get from anyone else.

Also, she could put off confronting her partner and asking him why he had felt the need to really go down on her rather than just pretending. That wasn’t a conversation she was looking forward to—it was bound to get messy.

But for now, she was going to concentrate on the mission and forget about the awkwardness that was surely coming.

“Thank you,” she said to the servant. “Lead the way.”

ANDI

They went down a long, twisty hallway with no sharp corners—only rounded curves and bends—until at last they reached another archway. The servant bowed Andi through it with Thrax trailing behind and she soon found herself in another large, rounded room filled with people who had tall, blue fluted glasses in their hands.

There were lots of low couches scattered around and many of the women were lounging on them. Or rather, they were lounging on their male-wives, who were sitting on the couches—the women were using them as chairs, just as they had at dinner. Apparently it was beneath a Queen of Salacious Delta to sit on a piece of furniture herself—her male-wife must sit on it first and then she could sit on him.

Andi accepted one of the tall, fluted blue glasses from a servant passing with a tray of them and gave the contents a dubious sniff. Since she didn’t catch even a whiff of licorice, she took a tiny sip and found to her delight that the liquor was actually good—if rather strong. It had a taste like burnt sugar and violets—a surprisingly delicious combination.

“Where’s Queen Itchy-Panties?” Thrax growled in her ear and Andi nearly spit out her drink.

“Thrax! Don’t say it like that,” she scolded under her breath, trying not to laugh. Even though she was mad at him—she thought she was anyway—he still cracked her up.
