Liam came up onto his knees, his dick still hard and shiny with spit as it dangled over Seth’s face.

“Just gotta catch my breath and then I’m finishing you off. Damn, that was good.”

“There’s no hurry,” Liam whispered as he began stroking himself. “I’m about to come anyway.”

“Do it. Let me see.”

Liam’s thighs shook next to Seth’s head and he reached up and cupped Liam’s balls, running one finger behind them. When Liam spread his legs more, Seth got a finger nice and wet before circling the man’s anus. He slid his finger inside that hot cavern and pegged his prostate. He stroked it over and over, pressing hard. Liam shouted and shot all over Seth’s chest. Seth continued to caress his finger over Liam’s prostate as he came. “So fucking hot,” he breathed.

When the man collapsed next to him, Seth slowly ran his hand over Liam’s hip and leg, loving the soft hair under his palm.

“Give me a second and I’ll get you a towel,” Liam panted.

“No hurry. I like having you on me.”

Liam surprised him; then when he laid his cheek on Seth’s leg. He turned and dropped a soft kiss there and Seth’s heart stuttered. This big guy had a gentleness, an affectionate nature, that just flat out did it for him. He ran his hand over Liam’s hip again.

“You got enough energy to come up here?” Seth asked.

Liam turned his body so his face was right next to Seth’s. They stared at each other for a few moments, and Seth smiled. “So much for keeping our hands off each other.”

“You regret it?”

“Not in the least. You?”

“No. In fact, give me a little time, and I’ll be ready to go again.”

Seth knew he could reload in a hot second with Liam’s body to look at and feel. He loved his size and the hint of softer padding in his middle. The man was a big, cuddly bear. Time to let all those worries go and just enjoy him while he had him. They could fuck and be affectionate and not turn into something permanent.

His heart gave another one of those stutters, as if it were trying to voice some objections. Or maybe insert some logic and common sense, now that he’d given up using his brain.

Even though a part of him was already starting to feel attached.

A soft kiss landed on his lips and Seth opened for Liam, their tongues languidly twining together. Liam’s beard rasped over his cheeks. Such a wonderful sensation. He brought his hand up to touch Liam’s cheek, and his belly fluttered when Liam placed his hand over Seth’s.

They could keep this simple, right?

Chapter Nine

Liam woke to the smell of bacon. Was there anything better first thing in the morning? He reached across the bed and came up with only cold sheets. He blinked his eyes open a couple of times and found he was alone. Waking wrapped around Seth would have been better than bacon.

During the night, he’d stirred a few times, opening his eyes to the feel of Seth pressed against him, one leg thrown over his, or Liam spooning Seth’s smaller body, his arm wrapped around his waist to keep him close. It might not have been a deep, soundless sleep, but drifting off knowing Seth was in his arms made it a very good night.

But morning was here, even if the sun wasn’t yet peeking above the horizon, and they had to face what they’d done. Again.

Liam scrubbed his hands over his cheeks, shoving aside memories of Seth’s warmth to stare at cold, hard reality. He’d been in a vulnerable place last night. His friend was dead. His business was in danger. His life was in danger. Seth had offered him a moment of comfort, and Liam had grabbed it with both hands.

It was sex. Nothing more.

They’d both agreed last night that they had no regrets.

Yes, there had been this moment where everything had felt so much bigger. Like they were on the cusp of something important, but they’d both retreated quickly. Seth had his master plan for life, and Liam…well, he had a fucking mess for a life. There was no way he was getting involved with someone, dragging them into this nightmare.

Throwing aside the blankets, Liam climbed out of bed and pulled on a pair of sleep pants and a T-shirt. He needed a shower, but he wanted to poke his head into the kitchen first. If Seth was cooking breakfast, he didn’t want to ruin things by taking too long under the hot water.

When he stepped over to the breakfast bar, it was to find Seth adding a fluffy, golden pancake to an already sizable stack next to a plate of bacon and sausage. The scent of fresh coffee also drifted through the air, and Liam couldn’t stop a moan of absolute pleasure.
