“Unless you need help going potty?” he asked.

“No, no, I’ve got it. I can pee on my own.”

Sheesh.

Ten minutes later, she was lying in the bed, chewing on her lip with nerves as he walked in holding her new baby bottle.

“Did you go potty, Little girl?”

She groaned. “Yes, Daddy.”

“Are you feeling all right? No headache? Sore throat or chest from the smoke?”

She shook her head. “I feel good, Daddy.”

“You tell me if that changes.” He set the bottle down and then started to strip.

Oh, Lord save her. Once he was down to his T-shirt and boxers, he walked into the bathroom. She stared after him, taking in his tight ass.

She pressed her legs together. If only she could be normal. Then she’d touch that ass. Squeeze it.

Well, I still could.

Hmm. How would he react if she were to squeeze his ass?

He reappeared and stilled, staring down at her with his eyebrow raised. “Do I want to know what you’re thinking?”

“You have a really squeezable butt.”

He grinned. Lord, she loved it when he smiled like that. It lit up his entire face. His eyes seemed to twinkle ,and she wanted to get lost in him.

“You want to squeeze my ass, huh, baby girl?”

“Who wouldn’t?” she muttered.

“Ahh, but the point is that you’re the only person that has the right to squeeze my ass.”

He was correct.

“I can squeeze it?”

“Anytime you want, baby,” he crooned.

Oh, hell. She wanted to, right now. He turned slowly and did a butt dance. And what a butt dance it was. She swore that she was panting by the time he stopped. Kneeling, she just watched until he stilled. Then she reached out slowly and cupped one cheek.

“Oh yeah, baby,” she muttered. “Give it to me.”

He broke into laughter. “Did you really just say that?” He looked over his shoulder at her.

She smiled back at him and shrugged. “Your ass makes me do and say weird things.”

“Good to know.” He turned and placed his hands on the bed. “Like I said . . . you can touch it whenever you want.”

Her breath caught in her lungs as his face grew close to hers.

“Are you going to kiss me?” she asked.

“Do you want me to kiss you?”

She nodded.

“Good girl.” He kissed her softly. He slid his hand behind her head to hold her still.

When he drew back, her head was spinning. But in the most delicious way. Not like she was going to throw up.

“Good, baby?”

“So good. It’s almost like a drug. I want more.”

“You can have as many as you want.”

He kissed her again, his tongue running over her lower lip before slipping between into her mouth.

She sighed happily as he drew back. He climbed into bed with her and patted his lap. “Come here.”

“Okay.” She gave him a confused look. “I thought we were going to sleep.”

“Not before I give you your bottle.”

Her eyes widened. “Wait. You’re giving me the bottle?”

“Yeah, baby. What did you think? That you were just going to suck on it on your own?”

“Um, yeah. I guess.” He grabbed the bottle off the nightstand then helped her lie back against his arm.

She was cradled in his arm as he raised the bottle. She opened her mouth and closed her eyes.

This. This was bliss.

The ringing of the phone startled her.

Shoot. She looked over at the time. Crap. How did it get to be two p.m.? Hadn’t she just started work?

She glanced down at her mug of now-cold coffee and the apple she’d taken one bite from.

Gross.

“Hello?” she answered the phone without looking.

“Greer-bear?”

“Cash? Hey, how are you? How you been? What’s going on?” she stumbled over her questions.

“I’m good. Are you okay?”

“Of course I’m good. I just . . . what’s going on? I’ve already asked that.”

“You been drinking?”

“No. Rude.”

He huffed out a laugh. “Hey, have you gone out or something? I’m at Aidan’s place and you’re not here.

“Oh no. I’m not staying there anymore.”

“You went to a hotel?”

“No. I’m staying with Hack.”

“You’re . . . staying with Hack?” he asked slowly. “That guy from the other night? Why the hell would you be staying with him?”

“Um, well, because he’s kind of my boyfriend.”

“Kind of your boyfriend? What do you mean, kind of your boyfriend?”

“Sorry. That sounded weird. He’s my boyfriend.”

“And you’re now living with him? Don’t you think that happened awfully fucking quickly? Damn it, Greer. What the hell? You never leave your apartment and then you fall for the first guy you meet? Do you even know him?”

“You know . . . you’re pretty judgy for someone who disappeared from my life for nearly nine years. Where have you been? What have you been up to?”

Something niggled in her brain. There was something wrong about this conversation, but she was too incensed to take a moment to think about what he’d just said.

“How the fuck didn’t I know you weren’t staying here? Fuck.”
