I want so much more right now, but we have work to do before we pack up and leave. When I break the kiss, I smile at the beauty who’s looking up at me as if I’m her hero.

I take Rayne’s hand and lead her back inside, saying, “Let’s get some breakfast.”

Sighing, I shut the emails for the day and lean back in my chair. There are still too many fuckers out there that need dealing with. We aren’t a big team. There are only a few of us fighting this fight, but I know we will find them all eventually and eliminate them. We could do with some help from the police, but there’s no way of getting them involved. Many of them are being paid to turn a blind eye. This is a war that we have to fight on our own.

“Need a whiskey?” Harper asks as she strolls into the office.

It’s going to be a long night of packing and making sure we clear out the house before anyone else moves in. I considered buying it, but I knew we would never be staying here long term. Deep down, I always knew I’d have to go home.

“Yeah, make it a double.”

She arches a brow at me then nods. I stare at her for a moment. As soon as I met Harper, I knew she was going to be a permanent part of my life. It was the same with Rayne. Something about them sparked life into me.

My little mouse is dressed in a pair of white leggings and a workout top that doesn’t hide her curvy ass. I love watching her move.

Both my girls are stunning even though they look very different from one another. When they’re together, I can’t help my mouth watering for a taste of them. But it’s not their outer appearance that captivates me the most, it’s what’s inside.

Harper and Rayne both have a darkness that dances in sync with mine, and they find pleasure in my desires, my kinks. They allow me to play freely and enjoy it when I torment them. Perhaps that’s why I first became enraptured by them.

Harper sets the drinks down on the desk and slips onto my lap. She hooks one arm around my neck and cups my face between her hands.

“Are you sure you’re okay with going home?” The concern in her tone is sweet.

“We need to go back. I need to go back. It’s time to stop walking into the fire without any backup. What happened to you and Rayne should never have occurred.”

“I shouldn’t have gone to Bane. I just didn’t want—”

I press my finger to her lips to silence her. “There is nothing for you be sorry for in this scenario. You did what you thought was best, but I should have been there to stop you. We fucked up.” It’s another reminder to me that we’re stronger together. “For a long time, I believed I was a loner. I figured this life isn’t for a man who has people he loves and cares about. But I was wrong.”

“Oh?” This time, my girl smiles.

I know she’s understood my meaning. I chose my words carefully. Because even though I’ve admitted my feelings to Rayne, I haven’t told Harper yet.

“I love you, Harper.” Now it’s me who cups Harper’s cheek in my hand as I pull her closer. My lips whisper over hers, “I love you. And I don’t want you to ever think that I don’t. Sometimes, it’s just harder for me to come to terms with my feelings and admit them.”

“We’re all broken in our own way, Dante. That’s why we fit so well together,” Harper tells me earnestly. She’s so beautiful, it’s painful to stare at her for too long.

I hear the soft footfalls of Rayne as she joins us. She lifts my drink from the desk and swallows it back in one mouthful. I arch my brow, silently questioning her action, but all she does is shrug.

“I know I would be lost without both of you in my life. I didn’t think it was possible to love two people equally,” I tell them. Even though my brother loves River and Caia, I didn’t think I could do it. “For a long time, I was convinced I would end up like my father.”

“But you’re nothing like him,” Rayne says as she scoots off the desk and drops to her knees beside me. “You are a good man, Dante. Even though you’re a Savage, his bad blood doesn’t run through your veins.”

Maybe she’s right. I don’t know, but I’m determined to make sure all those who are like my father, when he was alive, all the monsters in the world, get what’s coming to them.

“Perhaps we should have one last night of fun before we fly back,” I say then, changing the subject.
