Pleasure unlike anything she’d ever felt crashed inside of her, moving and retreating slamming against the shore like the waves of the ocean. And all the while Malachi still devoured her, still held her open for his mouth. And when the pleasure started to dim, the aftereffects of her orgasm waning, she lay fully against the ground and just breathed.

That’s all she could do.

Malachi pulled back and smoothed his hands up and down her legs, not speaking, just watching her, just giving her time to adjust to these newfound sensations. She knew that without a doubt.

Sasha thought he’d go further, finally take her innocence, her virginity ... and she was ready to surrender. But instead he leaned back, helping her get her panties and pants back on, looking into her eyes.

“Rest, Sasha. Rest. I’ll look after you two. I’ll make sure you’re safe. Always.”

“But you,” she said softly and glanced down to see his very impressive, very massive erection pressing against his pants.

“Tonight was about you, Sasha. Only you.”

Chapter Thirty-Five

Nothing wrong with blue balls

Malachi had never been a gentleman, not even a smidge, and each time he actually acted that way for Sasha and Lucy, it never failed to surprise him. He wasn’t a good guy. For the most part, he was an epic fuckup. Women were nothing more than objects to satisfy his needs.

Last night, he’d known Sasha wanted more. She’d truly believed she was ready for more, but the truth was, she couldn’t trust her own instincts. In this world, her emotions were running on high.

A woman like Sasha wouldn’t want a guy like him, and he didn’t know why that bothered him so much.

“I hate this,” Lucy said. “I want a candy bar.”

Malachi looked in the rear-view mirror to see that her arms were folded and she looked miserable. He’d been waiting for this since he found them. For the past couple of days, or was it weeks now, the days blended together and it was impossible to know what time or day it was. Maybe it was Sunday or perhaps Wednesday. Nothing made any sense and it wasn’t like it mattered. Anyway, the girls hadn’t complained once. They’d been without washing and any normal activities young women and girls should be doing.

“Lucy, don’t.”

“What? I want a candy bar. I want to play and laugh. I want my mommy.” The last was said on a scream, making Malachi clench his hands around the steering wheel.

All of a sudden, Lucy began to scream. She rocked forward and the screams were soul-destroying.

She wasn’t just misbehaving or being a brat. It was like for the first time, she realized she wasn’t going back to her parents. They were gone. School was out for forever, and of course walking into the store to get a candy bar was now out of the question.

“Stop the car,” Sasha said.

“Are you fucking crazy?” Malachi refused to park the car but Lucy’s screams didn’t diminish.

“I mean it. She won’t stop and I’ve got to calm her down. Please, Malachi. She’s having a panic attack. She used to have these all the time.”

“We don’t know where we are or who is around, for fuck sake. She could be killed. There could be anyone waiting to steal our car or our supplies.”

“I don’t care! I need to deal with this. Stop the fucking car.” Sasha reached over, jerking the wheel.

Seeing no other choice, he pushed Sasha across the car and pulled up to a stop.

Sasha didn’t say anything.

She climbed out of the car and helped a screaming Lucy from the car.

He felt completely helpless as he saw her wrap her arms around her sister, holding her close.

“It’s okay. I’ve got you. No harm is going to come to you. You’re safe. I’ve got you.”

Lucy didn’t stop and Malachi got out of the car, grabbing his gun and checking the perimeter. He didn’t know who was lurking around or how many survivors there were.

Holding his gun ready, he watched, alert, ready for whoever might try to take their car.

There’s no way he would let any harm come to these two. They were now his responsibility.

Slowly, Lucy stopped the ear-piercing sound, and he heard her sobbing. The heartbreaking noise made Malachi’s teeth clench. He couldn’t make it better. She was all alone. Her parents were dead. Her life would never be the same again.

He couldn’t promise her a happy life. This, what they were doing, driving to a potential safe zone was the best he could give them. This was so messed up, he didn’t know what the fuck to do anymore.

“I know,” Sasha said. “I know. Believe me. I love you. You will always have me.”

Lucy sniffled. “I love you, Sasha.”

“I love you too, honey.”

“I hate to break the tender moment but please, can we get back in the car?”
