I built my company alone with only an investment from my father. I paid him back within the first five years, and my business has only grown since then. I have celebrity clients from Nick Pike, soon to be of the Boston Leprechauns, Kitty Moe from WWE, and Lance Strickland, the famous actor. That is just naming a few. Being a celebrity manager is not just what I do; it is my life’s passion. Well, it was. Now, everything compares in comparison to her, my Taui, my prize, my Sassy. Even now, just thinking of how accurate her name is for her makes me chuckle.

Knock. Knock.

I stop pacing at the tentative knock on the hotel door. I thought I told them I didn’t want to be disturbed. Taking a few steps to the door, I open it, prepared to berate whoever is on the other side. “I said I don’t..” Holy shit. It’s her. “Sassy, what’s wrong?” Alarm bells are going off in my head, looking at her pained face. I can see tear tracks on her cheeks. She looks disheveled, almost in pain. She is in her pajamas, with no shoes, something she would never do. “Talk to me.” I put my hands on her shoulders and urge her to come into the room.

“I-I don’t know..I don’t know what to do?”

“Do about what?”

“Anything?” She says shoulders slumped in defeat. Standing here, my heart is breaking, shattering in pain to see her so broken. “I feel so lost,” she says into my chest, where I am holding her. When my arms wrap around her and hers around me, I swear I hear a lock click into place, like the pieces finally coming together.

“You’re not lost, baby. You are right where you should be. You knew that, though, didn’t you?” I use my thumb to rub the tears off her beautiful face, looking into her wet, dreary eyes. I can see the confusion and adrift gaze. My spine straightens with renewed conviction. This is my moment. This is what I have been waiting for. “Since you came to me, Taui, it means you feel it. You feel this bind between us, the strong pull between us. Do you feel it?”

“I do. I always have. I was just too scared to…”

“To what? Say it, baby. Say it and make it real.”

“To believe you felt it too.” That is good enough for me.

“I felt the moment I saw you, Taui. I just needed to be sure you were ready for what I need to give, do for, and receive from you.” Her cute little face scrunches up as she licks her lips. My cock twitches and jumps in my pants, wanting to be between those plump morsels.

“What is that?” she asks, her voice low and unsure. I tip her chin up so she looks at me, desperate for her to agree.

“Everything.” And then some.

CHAPTER 3

SASSY

THE NEXT MORNING

I wake up in his bed, still fully clothed. He’s not next to me, though, and I don’t like that. I think about last night. He led me to his bed and laid down with me. He rubbed my back, and I snuggled into his chest. I can’t remember the last time I slept so well. I don’t think I ever have.

He wants everything from me, and I want nothing more than to lay everything at his feet, but can I really do that without scaring him off? I can’t think when he’s touching me, and that’s such a welcome relief from the overthinking I do every waking moment. I look down at the foot of the bed and find a neatly stacked pile of clothing. Intrigued, I sit up, grab the pile, and set in my lap. Then I notice the note on top of it. Bolton’s bold handwriting stares back at me.

Taui,

I want you to follow my instructions implicitly. Can you do that? Put these clothes on and join me in the living room for breakfast.

Be a good girl and listen to me.

-B

Not for the first time, I wonder what Taui means, but I can be his good girl and do what he says. I jump up out of bed and strip off my pajamas. I’m not wearing a bra or panties, and there are none in the pile, so I skip them. I pull on the jeans, which fit perfectly, and the generic Chicago basketball shirt. It’s small, and I normally wear a medium for comfort, but I wear it all the same. I don’t bother looking in the mirror since the note didn’t say to, and I proceed to walk into the living room. My eyes meet Bolton’s, and he stands, gesturing for me to sit in the chair he pulled out for me.

“Good morning, Taui,” he says, kissing my forehead. Why is that so hot? I’m not a person who was starved for love and affection from my parents, but his chaste forehead kiss meant so much more than any of that. He sits down across from me. There’s an open newspaper on the table next to him and two cloche-covered plates in front of us.
