Naked, Brian hurried away from the bed and lowered to his knees on the carpet. “Chairman, have I done something wrong?”

What is he doing on his knees? I’m not God.

Getting used to being Chairman was proving to be a huge feat.

I covered myself with the blanket. “You didn’t do anything wrong. I’m just done for now.”

“You’re released of all stress?”

“I am.”

Brian leaned his head to the side and pointed to the red leather suitcase that he’s dragged into the room. “But, we haven’t even opened your gifts. I’ve only just begun. I’ve brought various flavored lubricants, whips, and—”

“Oh no. Just take all of that with you.” I widened my eyes. “I’m fine.”

Desperation filled his eyes. “But you’re not displeased with me?”

“I’m not into it right now.”

He stood and headed to his suitcase. “Perhaps, you can let me get you in the mood, Chairman. Your sister loved the rose tongue vibrator that—”

“If you don’t get out of here with all of that.” I shook my head. “I don’t want to know how my recently deceased sister enjoyed her orgasms.”

“Oh no!” Brian fell back to his knees and placed his hands in the praying position. “I’m so sorry, Chairman. I must apologize.”

“We’re fine, just—”

“It is totally okay for Stress Relievers to go from Chairmen to Chairmen—”

“Yeah, but this is weird.”

“In fact, I was Romeo’s secret Back up Stress Reliever too.”

“Oh wow!” I pointed to the door. “Then, back your ass up and get out of here.”

“I will do just that, Chairman.” He rushed to standing position. His big dick flopped around as he grabbed the suitcase and hurried to the door. “I’m so sorry.”

“That’s fine, Brian. Just go.” I was about to stop and tell him to put on some clothes, but he left in a hurry.

This damn Chairman job is mental. How did my brother and sister do this?

Sighing, I dragged myself from the bed, showered, and got ready.

I was so anxious about the meeting while I dressed. It was the only thing that spun around in my head while I dressed.

An hour later my maids helped prepare me, and still my nerves flared on edge.

What will this meeting be about and am I ready for it?

My personal maid, Gloria finished applying my makeup.

My other maid, Lola brushed back my long hair and pulled it into a nice bun.

I gazed at my reflection in the mirror.

This should be suitable.

I wore an outfit that exuded sophisticated casual. A red pencil skirt hugged my hips and legs. Princess seams went down the front and back for added structure. My sexy red blouse had a sweetheart neckline and a graceful off-the-shoulder silhouette.

I felt elegant, yet business stylish.

Lola finished the bun and moved away. “Anything else, Chairman.”

“That will be all, Lola.” I assessed the sides. “This looks amazing.”

“Call me up if you need me to fix any loose strands.”

“I will.”

Lola headed off.

Gloria put up her makeup brush, stepped to my side, and looked at my reflection too. “Do you like your face, Chairman?”

Gloria loved to put lashes on my eyes, but I hated them. We’d been arguing about that for the past several minutes. She gave up and used mascara instead.

I checked my eyes. “You did a great job.”

Gloria smirked. “Chairman, it would be on another level with the lashes.”

“I’ll have to save the lashes for a special occasion.” I picked up my two guns—Blossom and Bubbles—from the dresser next to us.

Gloria grabbed my diamond holster and helped me put it on. “Well, I heard that a special occasion will be coming for you soon.”

I widened my eyes. “What have you heard?”

“Not much yet, just that the chef has ordered triple the amount of grocery items and has been interviewing several caterers this morning.”

I raised my eyebrows. “Who ordered her to do that?”

“Mr. Simon Scott.”

Simon was the Chief Executive Officer of Killer Crows. He ran the Board and all meetings. He’d been voted in and had the Board members’ respect. Granted, he always added duties to his position and overstepped as much as he could, especially when it came to me.

I held in my groan.

Now, Simon is in my mansion, ordering my staff around? He would have never done that with Romeo or Chanel.

I placed the guns in my holster. “Let me know, if you hear anything else.”

“As always.”

My maid knows shit before me. Something is surely going to have to change.

I left my bedroom and headed down the long hallway, outlined by large paintings hanging on the walls. All portraits displayed different prominent members of the Jones family. It was the classic Syndicate way to decorate. Always there was an exposition of luxury encased within memories of the past. Pictures of ancestors were important. It helped us remember our sense of loyalty and duty.

I scanned my family’s paintings, trying to build the courage for today.
