“There. Right there.” The veins in Dom’s neck stood out as his head went back. Perspiration glistened on his smooth chest and along the scar on his left side. None of the scars on his body detracted from his looks in the least. In fact, the only thing they made Abe feel was angry that someone had hurt this wonderful man.

Dom’s ass suddenly tightened around him and Abe grunted and fell forward, his own ass clenching in response as he watched Dom’s balls draw up tight. “Fuck yeah,” he breathed. “Let me see you come!”

Thick white ropes hit those gorgeous abs, and that was enough for Abe as his own orgasm erupted, the pleasure so intense, he gritted his teeth as every muscle in his body tightened, then released in waves of drugging pleasure as he came into the condom while still buried inside Dom.

When he could see again, he found Dom staring up at him, a fucked-out half smile on his face.

“Oh…did we find something we’re good at,” he drawled, his voice gritty and low.

Abe removed the condom, tied it off, and looked around. He spotted the small, silver trash can next to the nightstand just as Dom pointed at it. He collapsed on the bed and pulled Dom to his side, too. The air conditioner kicked on, and the cool air felt good on his sweaty body. They stared at each other for long moments; then a serious note entered Dom’s eyes. He leaned forward and pressed his lips to Abe’s in a long and affectionate kiss. When he pulled back, he sighed.

“I’m so glad you finally caved.”

“Took me too long. And now that I know what I was missing, I feel like a fool.”

“You’re not. And I can’t complain. I’m just so damn happy to have you in my bed. In my house. And in a moment, in my shower.”

Abe rubbed at the wet hair on his chest. “I could use a shower.”

Dom rolled off the bed and came around to Abe’s side and held out his hand. “Come on. I’ll show you how good I am at soaping your balls.”

“My balls are going to need time, youngster.”

“Psht,” Dom breathed. “You haven’t experienced my superior technique yet.”

But Dom ended up being the one to learn a little something about soap and balls when he came all over Abe’s legs.

Afterward, Abe took his time dressing, allowing Dom to head down first to the kitchen to see if he could salvage any of the food he’d been cooking. Belly grumbling, he’d happily eat anything that Dom could scrape together. But the ache in his chest bothered him more than the emptiness of his belly. The craving for Dom was getting worse the more time they spent together, rather than less. A part of his brain was shouting for him to hurry down the stairs and join him again in the kitchen. To sit down at the little kitchenette and just watch him at the stove, to soak in his joy.

Dom had made it clear that this wasn’t some one-night stand or meaningless fling. He seemed as invested in making a real go of…whatever this was as Abe was. But that was just it. Being with Dom like this, the overwhelming happiness and feeling of contentment, the rightness of it all…Abe could feel himself getting swept away and so quickly. It hadn’t been what he was looking for. Not so fast.

Companionship. A little fun. Happiness. That had all been in the plan. But Dom was so much more. And he was coming to mean so much to him in so short a time. What if he got in over his head again like he did with Patricia? He’d gotten so lost in his ex-wife when they were young. With his experience, he thought he’d be able to better protect his heart, to put up more walls against getting swept up in everything that was Dom.

He didn’t want to. Not really. His heart pounded when Dom was close, and he felt alive around him. The world didn’t seem so daunting, and his life didn’t feel so aimless. His joyful outlook and fierce determination put everything in perspective.

Maybe he needed to take a page out of Dom’s book. Grab on to the happiness for as long as he had it and fight for what he wanted. And he wanted Dom.

Shaking his head at himself, Abe wandered over to the dresser and picked up his cell phone. At some point, either during the night or that morning, Dom had been nice enough to plug it in so that it wasn’t totally dead that morning. A smile crossed his lips when his eyes fell on Dom’s white Panama hat. The finely woven straw hat with the wide black band was striking on him, if a little odd. But the moment he flashed that rogue’s grin and tipped the brim, Abe was a goner for the man. He picked up the hat to take a closer look at it and a piece of paper fell out, fluttering to the floor.
