“I have no penance to pay.”

“Oh?” Judah releases Brielle and pushes her behind him as he takes one more step toward the rogue bastard. Then he grips him by the collar, and he drags him until their noses are almost touching.

I’m shocked when he lifts his wet fingers, and he runs them under the bastard’s nose, and he smirks. “Smell that? That’s the fragrance of a woman, something you will probably never know. Now, get the fuck out of my face, and behave like a man, not a teenage boy wanting to compare dick sizes. Because you know nothing about her, me, or my fucking family. But if you’d like to learn, I’ll gladly show you.”

I’ve never been more turned on by Judah before. The show of confidence, the alpha male grit that’s currently emanating from him, has me wanting to spend the night fucking worshipping him.

“Fuck me,” Valen whispers beside me. “I think we may need to leave this little charade earlier than planned. Because I am pretty sure tonight will be a long, exhausting evening.”

I chuckle quietly. “It’s like you’re reading my mind.”

We have been in many situations where we had to step up, to come face-to-face with some challenging bastard, but this was rather exquisite.

Judah shoves the man backward, and he stumbles into his friends who catch him. “Did I make myself clear?” Judah’s tone is pure venom.

The youngster has the audacity to laugh, but he does nod. “Yeah, perfectly.”

The music starts up once more, and moments later, it’s like the stand-off didn’t happen. People continue drinking, laughing, and talking. Judah and Brielle join us, and I’m still staring at him, surprised at the show, but turned on like never before.

Valen is the first one to speak because I’m still speechless when I look at Judah. “That was rather interesting.”

“Did you have to do that to me?” Brielle asks as she looks at Judah.

He chuckles. The way his eyes crinkle at the corners makes him seem almost happy. It’s not every day this bastard smiles. But when he does, it can be a vision to be held.

“Yes.” He looks at Brielle, then at me. “I’m not sure who he is, but we should get his name. When we’re back tomorrow, I’d like to send him a little gift.”

“I’d like to get him in the ring. Although, I’d like to make him cry,” I tell Judah. “Fucking little shit will pay for that show of overconfidence. I don’t like him.”

“I’ll find out who he is,” Valen announces, and makes his way into the crowd. With his charm, I have no doubt Val will more than likely have a list of names for us—the arsehole and his friends.

“I think we should leave soon before more shit hits the fan,” I tell Judah. “We’ll wait for Valen and then hit the road. I’ve spoken with Mario, so we don’t have to stay.

“Sounds good. I’m ready to call it a day, and night.” Judah’s distracted by his phone for a moment, and then he glances at me. “Meeting tomorrow morning early.”

My brows furrow in confusion. “Something serious?”

He shakes his head and says, “No, but we do need to meet. A few things on the agenda. And I want us all present.”

I know there are a lot of tasks coming up, so I nod and as we wait for Valen, I wonder if we’ll have any more threats in the coming weeks leading up to our initiation ceremonies.

WILL YOU FALL?

JUDAH

These fucking feelings.

I don’t like knowing that she’s in danger. But she has to prove herself. The team sitting at the table watches me as Brielle settles beside me. Our lives will become intertwined. But it’s not only our personal relationship, it’s one that includes the organisation. We’re going to be working together. I may be the first Boss to include a woman in the clan, but with the fire I see in Brielle’s personality, I know she’ll never sit back and let me run things alone.

A queen who will step up to the plate. One who will burn the world down to save those she loves. Which begs the question which is running through my mind on an endless loop—Will she ever love me?

The countdown to the wedding is now on. A couple of days to go and I’ll be her husband. I’m going to have to accept the fact that she’s my wife, and she will be a part of the family.

In the past, my ancestors never allowed their wives into the organisation. There were never moments of acceptance to have women in this life. Not even at the school. It was only recently that it had come to pass.

I don’t have any issues with having women working in the organisations, but they have to prove loyalty. The Agency can deal with them. I, personally, do not hurt women. But if they fuck over the family, they will pay.
