I freeze as the realization of what he’s saying hits me full force. He’s in love with me. He’s been in love with me, even before I showed up in his town.

The audience members sigh as if this is the most romantic thing they’ve ever heard and well, I can’t disagree with them. Blade is pretty amazing.

He continues on without Maddy’s prompting, “But I messed up. I didn’t tell her who I was from the beginning, and I shattered her heart. When she found out, she left me.”

“But you’re here today,” I say softly. The microphone catches my words, echoing them to the audience.

“Yeah, I am, and…” He pauses to drop my hand and dig in the pocket of his jeans. “I have a question for you, Gwen.”

Blood pounds in my ears as the audience erupts into shrieks and cheers. “You’re kidding me,” I murmur in a daze. My hot mountain man isn’t really proposing to me. He can’t be. This all has to be a weird dream, and I’m still back at the hotel.

He scoots from the couch onto his knees and opens the ring box. He holds it out to me. “Gwen Hughes, I love you. You’re funny and fierce and so damn brave. You make me want to be a better man, one who is worthy of you. Will you be the luna to this alpha?”

I throw my arms around his neck. “Yes, yes, yes. I love you too.”

Then his lips are on mine, and he’s kissing me with all of the pent-up longing and passion that we haven’t shared the last two days.

I tighten my hold on his shoulders urging him even closer and seaming my body to his. I lose track of where we are and who is watching until Maddy’s voice breaks through the haze of my lust, “Hey, kids, we have to keep this show PG-13.”

I finally pull away from the kiss, which inspires a snarl from Blade. I think he’d keep kissing me forever if I let him…and I don’t think I’d mind too much. My mountain man is perfect for me. I can’t wait to spend our lives together, learning everything about each other and making love all the time.

“Zoey already has your wedding dress ready for you,” Blade’s words are soft, spoken for my ears only.

“Zoey and Piper were in on this?” They both played their part so well. Neither of them let me know that they had any contact with Blade.

He nods and gives me a grin that’s not even a little bit repentant. “They love me. Their husbands not so much.”

I laugh at his words. I doubt that Brock and Gray have any affection for this man. Like Blade, they’re very possessive and would hate the thought of their wives talking to another man. “So, you want to get married right now? Were you serious about that?”

He tucks a strand of hair behind my ear, his eyes glittering with love and affection. “I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together. I already have the chapel booked in Vegas. What do you say?”

“I say I can’t wait to be Mrs. Shaw.”

“Good girl,” he croons, reminding me of all the sexy things we’ve done together. I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together discovering all the things that turn each other on.

I turn to Maddy and smile at her, “I’m sorry to go, but I have a wedding to get to!”

BLADE

“Blade, we can’t do this here!” Gwen moans as I press her up against the elevator wall. I’ve spent the last two hours on a private plane, thanks to connections from Roman and Brennon. My friends might be reclusive mountain men, but they still wield considerable power in the business world and have access to plenty of resources.

Gwen’s friends and family were all around us, drinking champagne and toasting our whirlwind nuptials. I’m not complaining. I’m grateful she has all these people that want to celebrate with her. But it makes it damn hard to fuck your future wife when she’s surrounded by her loved ones.

Our taxi arrived at the hotel first, which means the wedding party won’t be far behind us. “Give me three minutes to take you to heaven.”

I suck on that spot on her neck that she likes so much. Just like I knew she would, she digs her nails into my shoulders. I wish I weren’t wearing this damn shirt, wish I could feel the sting against my skin.

I have no regrets about waiting for this woman. I’ll only ever know what it means to be intimate with her. Another woman will never know my body the way she will. I’m only Gwen’s, just like she’s only mine.

The elevator doors ding open, and I force myself to step back to admire my handiwork. She’s heaving beneath that tiny little sundress, her nipples sharp points through the thin cotton. Her hair is mussed from where I’ve been playing with it and those perfect lips are swollen from my kisses. But it’s the beard burn on her neck that I like. It tells the world she belongs to me.
