“Good morning, Ms. Jamison.” The male flight attendant smiles at me. “I’m Aaron, and I’ll be taking care of you while Mr. Knightley flies us to Daytona.” What?

I turn my shocked eyes to Hawk. “You’re flying us?”

I already hate flying, and the thought of an inexperienced pilot gives me pause. “I was a pilot in the military,” he assures me. “Don’t worry, little kitten, I’ll get you there safely.”

Hawk takes my hand and leads me back to a large leather seat. “Let Aaron know if you need anything.” He places a soft kiss on my nose before leaning over to hook my seatbelt. “I’ll let you come up and see the controls after we hit cruising altitude.”

“I’m not a child.” My eyes narrow. “You don’t need to placate me.”

“Kitten, I’m not placating you. I want you close by. I’m dying for your touch.” My mouth rounds as his words sink in.

“We can discuss this in Daytona. I need to get us up in the air before we miss our take-off slot.”

After the plane levels off, Aaron steps over and smiles. “Mr. Knightley asked if you want to join him in the cockpit.”

“Thank you.” I smile at the older man and unhook my seatbelt before following him to the front of the small plane.

Hawk glances over his shoulder and smiles up at me. “Sit next to me but don’t touch anything.”

“Is this safe?” I worry my bottom lip.

“I wouldn’t let anything hurt you, kitten.” Hawk pats my knee. “Trust me.” I glance into his eyes and realize I’m starting to trust him and my feelings for him. But my inner rebel still needs to show a little resistance.

“You have to earn my trust.” I shrug.

“Don’t worry. I plan to earn your heart along with your trust.”

By the time we land, I’ve relaxed enough to enjoy seeing the world from the cockpit of the plane.

“That was the best flight I’ve ever been on.” I smile at him. “Thank you for coming to Daytona to see Pussycat Rebellion.”

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” He takes my hand and leads me to a car waiting on the runway.

When we arrive at the hotel, I walk with Hawk straight through the lobby to a back hallway. I notice a set of elevators marked penthouse suites to our left. My mouth falls open when Hawk pulls out a keycard to scan. I’ve grown up around wealthy people. In fact, my parents aren’t exactly paupers, but Hawk is a whole new level of wealth.

He places his hand across my back to lead me into the elevator, and I feel the heat of his touch all the way to my bones.

I barely resist the urge to fan myself as the elevator doors close, sealing me in this claustrophobic little space with Hawk. “Elevators make you nervous?”

He’s way too freaking in tune with my feelings. During the entire two-hour flight, I felt his intense attention zeroed in on me. Hawk anticipated my every need before I even realized it myself.

“I’m not a fan,” I mumble.

“Don’t worry, little kitten. I’ll make sure nothing happens to you.” Out the corner of my eye, I watch his hooded gaze moving slowly down my body, causing my blood to stir as wetness soaks my panties. I’m not too sure my twenty-four-year-old heart can take the overexertion being this close to Hawk causes. This trip was a bad freaking idea. The absolute worst. There’s no way I can fight these feelings for him while he’s telling me everything I want to hear and overwhelming my senses.

I breathe a sigh of relief when the doors finally open and I manage to walk a few feet from my constant tormentor. I rush down the hallway, feeling Hawk’s eyes scorching my skin, and almost melt in a puddle of goo. Oh boy. I am in so much trouble here. He leads me into the fancy hotel suite, and I realize resisting him is going to be downright impossible. He already owns my heart and body.

“We can take care of ourselves,” Hawk growls to the valet. “Thank you,” he adds and hands the other man several bills before ushering him out of the suite.

“I hope you don’t mind sharing one suite.” He turns to me and smirks. “There are four bedrooms for you to choose from.”

“No problem at all,” I manage to squeak. When did I start sounding like a constipated mouse? Pull yourself together.

Hawk reaches for my suitcase and then leads me through the huge suite. “I usually stay in the last room at the end of the hall.” He points at the door to the left. “You have your choice of all the others. Or you can share with me.” I blink several times, wondering if I heard that right, and glance over at him. “I want to make sure you’re comfortable.” He winks and I almost swallow my tongue. The hot record company CEO’s constant flirting is quickly winning me over.
