Candice bounds out of the car and gives me a hug before showing me all of the dance moves she learned in class.
She tries to teach me some, but I’m more of a racer than a dancer.
Lara is watching with a smile on her face.
“Go get a snack,” she says to the kids as she struts over wearing one of her librarian outfits. Black glasses, hair pulled back in a tight ponytail, pencil skirt, turtleneck, book tucked under her arm… I feel a growl rumbling up my throat. Fuck, I love that conservative look.
I just want to get my hands on her, get all of those tight clothes off, and loosen her up.
“Did you lose again?” she asks with a grin as she sits sideways on my lap.
I smile as I wrap my arms around her. “I couldn’t possibly lose with you and these amazing kids in my life.”
She smiles warmly as she kisses my forehead.
“Where are you going?” I ask as she tries to get up.
“I have to get lunch ready.”
“Already done,” I say as I hold her on my lap. “I made a chicken noodle soup. It’s simmering on the stove.”
She sighs as she relaxes on my lap. “Thank you.”
“Lunch is ready,” I say in a playful way. “The kids are busy with a snack… Want to go for a ride?”
“In the Torino?”
I shake my head as I start pedalling the Big Wheel down the street. “In my new ride. How do you like it?”
She grins as we roll down the street, looking like a couple of crazy people. I don’t care how we look. We’re in love. That’s all that matters.
“I can get used to this,” she says as she drapes her arm around my shoulder. “Although, I’m not loving the knees smacking into my back.”
I laugh as I let the Big Wheel roll to a stop. I wrap my arms around her, holding her tight, and kiss her on her sexy little mouth.
This woman is better than racing.
She’s better than everything.
Twelve years together and she still gets me revved up like nothing else.
“Let’s keep going,” she says when we finally pull away.
“All the way to Mexico?”
She laughs. “Why not?”
We’re both smiling as I pedal off into the horizon with my soul mate on my lap.
The End!
