Was the weekend over yet? Please, God, let it be over.

Maybe then Tad would finally go home.

Not that Max didn’t like him. In truth, he actually kind of did. Problem was, once the guy came in contact with Scott, the two of them got annoying really fast. All that laughing and joking and messing around? All those out-of-nowhere lip locks without warning? Max was just so fucking sick of it. Sick of listening to their happy. It made him want to beat something into the ground.

Scowling, he stomped down the staircase as loud as he could. Hopefully they’d hear his ass coming for once, unlike the other gazillion times in the past two days. Seriously, what the fuck. Did those two not have ears? Lose all ability whatsoever to fucking hear? Certainly seemed like the case as soon as they stepped into the same room.

Maybe they were in the gym. Or up in Scott’s bedroom again.

Maybe Max could get a drink in fucking peace.

Scott’s punk-laced laughter resounded from the kitchen. Tad’s wary-tinged chuckle followed suit.

Max pursed his lips irritably and rounded the bottom steps.

Nope. Guess not. No peaceful drink for him tonight.

Loosing a loud cough, he marched their way, his heavy boots echoing through hallway. Maybe they’d still hear him. A guy could dream. He stopped in the doorway and peered inside, then stilled when he spotted them to the right. Good Lord, what the fuck was Scott doing to Tad now? And why’d he have to be doing it against the fridge? The one goddamn place Max needed to go. But no, Scott had to have Tad pinned against the thing, tapping his cheek with a—

Max furrowed his brows and eyed Scott’s hand. Or more specifically, the big zucchini in its clutches.

“Aw, come on, Tad. It’ll be fun.”

Tad laughed. “It’ll be cold.”

“Microwave. Ten seconds. Problem solved.”

“Great. You first.”

“I went first last time,” Scott laughed. “With the cucumber, remember? Man, you shoved that thing deep.”

Tad’s eyes hooded fast. “That was so fucking fun.” His voice dipped. “Damn, you just gave me wood.”

Scott grinned. “Mmhmm. You loved that shit.” He rocked his hips into Tad’s. “So fucking dirty.”

Tad’s next laugh came out breathless. “Pretty sure you loved it, too.”

“Fuck yeah, I did. Know what else I loved?”

Tad shook his head. “What?”

“Open your mouth and I’ll show you.”

“My mouth?”

Scott tapped Tad’s cheek with the zucchini again. “Yeah.”

Tad eyed it. “Did you wash that? I didn’t see you wash that.”

Scott laughed and dragged it across Tad’s lips. “Yes. I washed it. Now open up.”

Tad coughed another laugh. “You make me gag again and I’ll beat you.”

Scott snickered. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“Dude. You shoved that cucumber halfway down my fucking thr—ungth.”

“No calling me dude, babe,” Scott laughed. “We’ve been over this.”

Max stiffened at the sight of Scott stuffing Tad’s mouth.

Great. Just great. He was gonna use that zucchini for dinner.

Clenching his jaw, he cleared his throat. Loudly.

Tad shot completely still, wide eyes darting Max’s way. And man, if his face wasn’t red already… Max nearly laughed. Nearly.

Scott glanced over his shoulder. “Oh… Hey, Max. What’s up? Didn’t hear you come in.”

You don’t fucking say.

“Wanted to grab a drink.” He pointedly eyed the fridge.

“Ah.” Scott nodded. “We’re in the way.” He stepped back, pulling Tad with him, zucchini still in his mouth.

Tad yanked the thing free and shot Scott a scowl.

Scott snickered, pulled him close, and kissed his cheek.

Max averted his gaze—didn’t want to see that shit—only to notice some cardboard boxes on the counter.

“What’re those?” He gestured their way with his chin.

Scott smiled and playfully crushed Tad against his chest. “Just a few things of Tad’s. He’s moving stuff in little by little. Less he’ll have to move after graduation.”

“Oh, yeah. He’s moving in.” Max headed for the fridge. Scott had told him “the good news” last weekend after Tad left. Guess Max blocked it out of his brain.

“Yup.” Scott released Tad and grabbed the zucchini, then grinned and backed Tad up against the sink. “Now,” he murmured huskily. “Where were we?”

Tad’s chuckle came out tense. He shook his head and whispered, “Nowhere,” then tried to grab the veggie from Scott’s hand. But of course, he was too slow. Everyone was too slow with Scott. Didn’t stop him from trying again, though. Or again, after that, even with Scott easily dodging every swipe.

Scott stifled a quiet laugh. “Sorry, babe. This is mine. But don’t worry, I’ll be giving it to you soon.”

Tad froze, cheeks reheating as he glanced Max’s way, clearly hoping that he hadn’t heard their exchange.

If only Max were so lucky.

Max groaned under his breath and grabbed a beer. He needed to get out of there, like right fucking now. Before they started playing hide the zucchini.

THIRTY-ONE

“Alright, guys. Class is over. Make sure you turn in your papers before you head out. And don’t forget to study for next week’s finals.”
