“Shit, she’s here.” Nuke stands, at least he’s changed his leather pants, but he’s still shirtless though.

“I need to go.” Jett hangs up and looks at us.

“Fuck, is it weird my cock is getting hard?” Nuke adjusts himself and starts to bounce around as if we’re gonna take the stage.

“Nuke, just go with Pete. Make sure she doesn’t panic with all the paparazzi,” I demand as I watch her car pull up to my gate through the video surveillance on my phone.

“Go, man.” Feeling the burner phone vibrate in my pocket with an incoming text, I pull it out and look at it.

AXEL: R still at her house

ME: Thanks, brother

He doesn’t respond, doesn’t need to, I know he feels me. Granger always said Axel was loyal, you just had to get to know him.

He’s right. I’d seriously have been fucked without him and the Disciples. I take a deep breath and try and calm my pulse that’s racing with adrenaline. “Rachel hasn’t left her house,” I say, pocketing the burner.

“Doesn’t mean she’s not using her phone,” Jett reminds us as we both look at the door, hearing Nuke’s loud voice coming from the other room.

“Yeah, Ammo wants Courtney’s shit out today. He boxed it up in here,” Nuke says.

My own cock is getting hard because this is it.

It’s her, I can feel it.

“That’s a crazy amount of paparazzi.” She laughs, her voice sounding unusually shrill, or maybe this is just the first time I’m actually paying attention to her.

Jett moves to the other side of the room like a viper waiting to strike.

“Part of the life.” Nuke’s laidback voice makes me grin. Fucking Nuke, he has a heart of gold. If he loves you, he’ll take a bullet for you.

“Court doing okay?”

“I don’t know, she’s at Melanie’s, they keep…” Her voice trails off as she stops, wide-eyed, and stares at me.

“Oh. Ammo.” Her pale skin starts to flush. “I’m here for… just here to grab the boxes.” She smiles and pushes her hair behind her ears as I cock my head to look at her.

She’s wearing her baggy clothes, and the heavy-looking, dark-rimmed glasses almost dwarf her face.

All this time she was here, right under my nose.

“Gina, please have a seat. This is my attorney, Jett Powers.” Her head swings in the direction that I point, and for a second, I think she might actually bolt. Nuke must feel it also.

So he says, “You don’t mind if I close the door?” He shuts it and grins without waiting for an answer. “Never know who’s spying.”

“What’s happening. I don’t like this.” She backs up as she looks at Nuke.

“Sit,” I command as she jumps and swings around to focus on me.

“I…where’s the boxes?”

Her eyes widen as I cross my arms and speak slowly. “Gina. I know you were the one helping Rachel. I know it was you who planted the cameras around Courtney’s house.” I walk closer, getting my cigarettes out of my pocket.

“What are you talking about?” She shakes her head as her hands nervously start rubbing up and down her legs on her jeans.

“It’s over. We know it was you. Now you need to think about if you want Jett to help you, or you want to go to prison?” I light up and hand it to her as she stares, her body starting to shake, then she turns and runs to the door.

“Gina, if you want to save yourself, you need to start talking.” My voice is strangely calm as she turns, her chest rising up and down in a fast pant.

“I need to make a phone call,” she announces, her hands shaking so much she drops her phone as she pulls it out of her pocket.

I bend down to pick it up and hold it out to her. Our eyes lock, and a for a second, I see fear flickering there. Good, she should be scared.

I feel no sympathy.

I feel nothing.

Except to see her pay.

“You planted the books and pictures, right? Mike Zane had nothing to do with any of this? It was all Rachel, right?”

“I need to make a call,” she repeats, her forehead breaking out into a sweat.

“Gina?” Jett speaks as she turns back and forth.

“You know who I am, right?” His voice gentle as she stops her erratic movements and nods her head yes.

“I didn’t do anything. I don’t know why you are doing this to me—”

“Because you were involved,” he interrupts her. “I lived with Rachel, I know the exact type of woman she manipulates.” He takes a step closer.

“You were fucking her, right? She told you she would help you?” His eyes narrow in on her as she stands frozen.

“Yes,” she whispers. “Because she loves me.”

My eyes close, it’s over. We got her to crack.

“It was never supposed to get this far. Rachel just wanted Courtney to need her, you know? But then you came in the picture.” She laughs and slowly slides to the floor, her whole body going limp.
