"Well I don't doubt you for a minute," Talon announced, sounding pretty damn sure of himself. "And I would love to see some of your work if you'd let me."

I squished my lips around as I weighed my options. My comics were so important to me, and a huge part of who I was. If Talon found them lame or pointless, it would crush me with a pain I knew all too well. Sharing my art was like baring my soul. But that was inexplicably what I wanted with Talon; I craved to share everything with him with an intensity that I couldn't fight.

"Okay, but you have to promise not to laugh."

He cupped my cheek in his wide palm and looked deep into my eyes to promise, "I would never."

My skin heated beneath his and, not knowing what to do with myself, I jumped off of the couch and power walked to my bedroom, motioning for Talon to follow. Then I got so overwhelmed by the fact that he was in my bedroom that I just flapped my hand towards the bed. Luckily, he took the hint and sat down on the mattress while I retrieved a box from the floor of my closet. When I turned to face him, Talon wore an understanding smile.

“We can go back out into the living room if you’re more comfortable.”

Damn. It was obvious that I had no chill. “No, it’s okay. I'm sorry that I'm so nervous; it's just that I've never had someone inside before." My eyes widened and I added, "Inside my dorm I mean; not inside me! Well, both are true, actually. Oh dear lord, why did I say that?"

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to calm down, but they popped back open when the weight of the box disappeared from my hands. Talon was now standing in front of me, and rested the box on the bed before cupping my hot cheeks in his hands. "You don't have to be nervous with me, sweetheart."

"See, you say that like it will help, but when you call me sweetheart, I get even more nervous and my brain gets stupid and I don't know what I'm doing. I have zero experience with men; especially men who look like you. I want to kiss the handsome right off of your face but I don't even know you and I don't know why I feel like this or why I keep saying these things! What is wrong with me?"

"Absolutely nothing," Talon answered quietly. "There's an undeniable pull between us; I feel it too." He tapped his fingertip on my temple and added, "You might not know me here yet, but you know me here." Talon slid one hand from my cheek onto my chest, over my heart. "Does that scare you?"

"A little," I told him honestly, "But it also excites me." He smiled and my heart thumped like crazy as he caressed his fingers across my chest. "Does it scare you?"

"Not at all. I've been waiting for this feeling my whole life."

"But with someone like me?" I saw the guy Talon was with at the club, and there were some major differences between him and me.

"Not someone like you," he whispered, snaking his hand down and around onto my back. "You." He leaned in so that his face was only inches from mine, his breath fanning across my cheeks as my heart nearly beat out of my chest.

"Th-there's something you should know," I stuttered as he traced his tongue across his lips. "Remember that 'zero experience' thing? It includes kissing." It was embarrassing to admit, but I had a feeling he was about to find out anyway. "I really want to kiss you, but I don't know what I'm doing and I'm afraid you'll-"

I stopped rambling when Talon touched his lips to mine, but my thoughts didn't quiet; my brain spun with a hundred questions. What does this mean? What are we? Will my glasses fog up? Do I move my lips? What do I do with my hands?

Talon pressed the tip of his tongue between my lips and my worries fluttered away as instinct took over. I wrapped my arms around his neck, closed my eyes, and relaxed.

I eased my jaw open and Talon's tongue slithered inside my mouth. He licked against my taste buds and tickled the roof of my mouth. I took a deep breath and wrapped my tongue around his. He moaned and pulled me closer, and we melted into a mix of twisting tongues, grabbing hands, and pleasured moans.

Kissing Talon felt as natural as breathing; his body called to mine, leading me with silent strength while lighting me up with overwhelming need. My blood burned as it pumped through my veins, settling in my groin and making my flesh harder than ever before.
