“How have you been?” he asked.

And she wouldn’t forget the fact he’d stayed with her to make sure she was fine even after she got to the hospital.

“I’ve been good,” Harlow said. She had to stop herself from glancing down his body. Harlow had promised herself that she was never going to fall for an MC guy. Not for someone from the club. Like her brother.

When she thought of her brother, she had mixed feelings. She never thought of him as Big Dick, because, gross, but she did think of him as George, and she knew her brother would be pissed if she started dating one of his brothers. Especially Hunter. The VP. Not that he’d shown an interest in her. She licked her lips and quickly shoved the lollipop back in.

Having thoughts about Hunter was not good.

“You know, lollipops are bad for your teeth,” Hunter said.

“Well, what else can I suck on?” she asked.

Damn it, that sounded so bad and so naughty.

“I could think of a couple of things.”

And like that, Harlow wasn’t exactly sure what he meant by that, or did he mean exactly what she thought?

Carlos paced Smokey’s main clubhouse room, pissed off.

He hadn’t been able to find Raven.

She wasn’t answering her cell phone, and asking people in Fort Clover was useless. He’d even called Drago to try to find out what was going on. His underboss had no idea.

It only left the Hell’s Bastards MC, and none of them were talking. They also looked a little pissed off with him, which he could understand. He wasn’t leaving until he knew where Raven was and that she was okay.

“You shouldn’t be here,” Elijah said.

Carlos had made it his mission to learn all the names of everyone at the Hell’s Bastards MC. He’d only come to this decision after he’d met Raven, once. After that, his obsession had begun and everything about her and the Hell’s Bastards MC had been important information for him.

“Do you know where Raven is?” Carlos asked.

“If we did, we wouldn’t tell you,” Kinky said.

Brick was next to stand side by side with Kinky. “You need to leave.”

“In case you’re not aware, Raven is mine.”

“Raven’s not yours,” Ortiz said. “She’s club.”

“And you don’t get a say in that,” Demon said.

Many men were present tonight. Carlos smiled. He would gladly go toe to toe with these sons of bitches. He wanted something to hit. They all looked ready to wipe the floor with him.

“Enough,” Smokey said, stepping through the main clubhouse. “You shouldn’t be here.”

“I’m here for Raven,” Carlos said.

“And I don’t have her. She wants nothing to do with me.” Smokey looked at his men. “She’s safe. She’s with … Jonah.”

“Who is Jonah?” Carlos asked.

“None of your fucking business,” Brick said.

“Look, you might not like the agreement I had with Smokey. We thought we were doing the best thing for Raven. You can all be pissed at us or you can see that we were trying to do right for her.”

“By knocking her up?” Demon asked.

“Taking her choice away?” Ortiz asked.

“Yeah, you both sound like real heroes,” Kinky said.

“Enough,” Smokey said and turned toward him. “Leave her, for tonight. We’ve got to give Raven time.”

“She’s carrying my child.”

“And we’ve got to give her fucking time!” Smokey raised his voice. “Do you not see that? Raven ran, Carlos. She fucking ran, and she didn’t go far, but I had to go to one of my men’s sisters, who is not even club, for her to tell me where to find her!” He stopped and took a breath. “Get the fuck out of my club.” Smokey held his palm up. “Get out, now!”

Carlos wanted to remind him they both agreed to this. Smokey was looking for a way to deal with Raven, he gave it to him, and he didn’t tell him to be careful. Smokey couldn’t have it all his own way.

Still, Carlos didn’t want to be at the club if Raven wasn’t there.

Stepping outside, he pulled out his cell phone and dialed her number.

No answer.

It had started to go straight to voicemail, which didn’t fucking help him.

He walked to his car and climbed inside, slamming the door.

Pulling up Drago’s number, he dialed and waited.

After a few minutes, he picked up. “What do you need?” Drago asked.

“I need you to find me Raven,” Carlos said.

“How the fuck do you expect me to do that?” Drago asked. “I’m on the hunt for Marchetti. You need to be back here. Not waiting around.”

“Raven found out the truth and she ran. She’s still in town, but I need to convince her to come back to me.”

Drago sighed. “Why don’t you just leave it alone? Let her live her life?”

“Have you forgotten that she’s pregnant with my baby?” he asked. “I’m not leaving her behind.”

“Or, she could just have a kid that you visit.”
