“Damn, you better take it easy there, or I’m going to take your sexy little ass again.” She flexes her hips upward, pushing me deeper into her. “Okay, honey, you’ve asked for it,” I growl and flip us, so she’s on top of me.

The second time goes even faster, both of us coming after she finds what works for her greedy cunt. Wearing my old ass out, I fall asleep with her sexy body sprawled on mine. I wrap my arms around her and whisper as I doze off, “You’re mine, Casey.”

Chapter 5

Casey

What am I doing? Can I give in to his promises? I should go. Fuck, I just had unprotected sex with him. A flurry of thoughts race through my head. I look over at him, and he’s perfect. I sigh in my head because I don’t want to wake him, but he’s too perfect. He’s everything a woman could want wrapped up in the sheets. And that’s why I have to leave.

In a hurry, I’m dressed, out of the house, and down the street, before he wakes up and reality hits me. I run and head out into the night in an area I have no idea of where I am. I look back, but since we came through the garage, I don’t know what the house looks like from the outside. Shaking my head, I keep moving.

Shit, what am I doing?

Running because he’s more than eager to make me his? That makes some sense, but I’m not ready to believe in happily ever after. I make it to a busy street and spot a bus. Dashing as fast as I can, I hop on it before the doors close. I’m glad I picked up a CTA card when I left the airport.

It’s almost completely empty except for one guy in the very back, and the bus driver asks, “Who ya running from?”

Freaking out like somehow I’d been caught, I stammer, “No one. Just didn’t want to get caught in the rain again.”

He nods his head and remarks, “Smart. You shouldn’t be roaming the streets at this hour. It’s almost midnight.”

That’s freaking ominous. I know that major cities are littered with crime, but he makes me think there’s paranormal activity going around. “You make it sound creepy around here.” I really need to lay off the books I read—too many vampires and werewolves lurking in the shadows.

“Nothing good happens after midnight. At least that’s my take on it. Where ya from?” He’s making small talk since the only person on the bus nodded off.

“Texas,” I state, knowing that it explains itself. I’m way out of my element.

“I thought ya sounded different.”

For a few blocks, we ride in silence. As soon as the thought hits me, I ask, “Is the train still running?”

“Yes, for another hour.” I breathe a sigh of relief. I have time to get back to the hotel without worrying about trying to find a cab.

As soon as the bus gets to the station, he adds, “Have a safe night. I hope the city treats you good.” He winks, and I smile back.

“Thanks. I hope so too.” I jump off and go toward the train platform, knowing the city has been fantastic to me.

Owen. He’s been great to me, and I abandoned him. Okay, he wasn’t all hearts and flowers, but I felt right with him. Now, I’m lonely throughout my entire body. I try to forget about Owen and check the map. The train will take me downtown to my hotel. Good.

I take my seat again and pull out my phone. Shit, I should call Mike just in case Owen calls him, and he freaks out.

“Hey.”

I start to speak, but he interrupts me. “Where the fuck are you?” he roars.

“Chill. I’m on my way back to my hotel. Can you let Owen know if he calls you?” I ask.

“If he calls? I’ve been on the phone with him for the past five minutes with him flipping out. He’s driving around hoping you didn’t get yourself in trouble.”

“I’m fine. I just don’t want to rush things.”

“Girl, five minutes after meeting you rushed to leave with him. Now you’re running. Tell me he didn’t do anything to hurt you.”

“No, not at all. I’m just…this is all new to me. I don’t know what to do.”

“Let me know when you get to your hotel. I’ll deal with Owen,” he mutters.

I should have dealt with Owen instead of acting like a child. I’m twenty-one years old, not some seventeen-year-old with no experience of life. I’ve been living on campus for four years without my parents being around to care for me. Common sense should have told me to handle this better. Unfortunately, Owen robs me of any sense at all.

Damn, I feel like a stupid twat.

Chapter 6

Owen

The second Mike informed me that she was in her hotel room, I could finally breathe. My heart had been in my chest the entire time I searched for her.
