“I get up at five.” He comes back out of the closet in a pair of slacks and a buttoned-up shirt. I never know what look he’s going to have on any given day. He really does flip from being this rough bad boy over to the boardroom don’t fuck with me lawyer type. I have to say he cleans up real nice, but I’m not sure which look I prefer more.
“What is there to even do at five in the morning?”
“Work out, answer emails, shower, clean up after the mini tornado that lives with me now, and take her dog out for a run.”
“Thor doesn't run.” I wrap my arms around my giant Saint Bernard.
“He did a couple miles. He’ll get better.” I gape at him. “Breakfast, Thor. Daddy will feed you,” he whispers to him. Thor jumps off the bed, taking off out of the room.
“The hell!” I throw my hands up. Traitor. He and I will have to discuss this later. He better not be getting too comfortable here because we are not staying. Definitely not.
Archer walks over to the side of the bed, putting one hand down on it. The other comes to my jaw, gripping it.
“Want your mouth,” he says before he kisses me. I grip the front of his shirt to push him away, but instead I end up pulling him into me. I moan into his mouth as his tongue strokes mine. I wonder what it would feel like to have that sexy mouth of his between my thighs.
“Archer,” I breathe when he takes his mouth away from me.
“Be a good girl and come eat your breakfast. Then maybe I’ll eat you.”
I gasp. What the hell? Can he read my mind now? He releases his hold on me. I watch as he reaches down and adjusts his cock that is pretty much in my face since he’s standing next to the bed.
“Up. Don’t make me come back and get you,” he orders before he strolls from the room. I grab a pillow and lob it across at him when he makes it to the door. I miss by a freaking mile.
“Whatever,” I mumble, flopping back onto the bed. I’ll get up when I want to. He’s not the boss of me. Plus, I’m rather enjoying this big, comfy bed. I haven’t been this comfortable in a really long time.
“Savannah.”
“I’m up!” I jump from the bed. His deep, sexy chuckle travels down the hallway, making my nipples harder than they already were.
“What is wrong with you?” I growl at my own body, knowing I’m fighting a losing battle.

“Oh! I work today.” Savannah says suddenly, her mouth full of food. Something that would be annoying if it were anyone else, but with her it’s adorable. Especially when she all but admitted she needs a keeper.
“I want you to quit.”
“What! I can’t quit.” She rolls her eyes. That little action is going to get her ass smacked if she keeps it up.
“Watch your eyes, Savannah.”
“You can’t watch your eyes.” She crosses them while smirking at the same time. I fight back a chuckle. Something I find myself doing a lot with her. “You can laugh.” She pokes my cheek. “I know I’m funny.”
“Fine. Keep your job.” Her fork full of pancakes pauses almost to her mouth.
“That was too easy. What’s the catch?”
“Eat.” I push back from my chair. “I need to make a few calls.”
“We need to leave in twenty minutes,” she calls after me. “I’m going to pack a lunch.”
For the past few weeks, she’s been working the front desk of a daycare. She gets moved around a bit with the temp agency she works at. Before she worked for the temp agency, she bounced around doing all kinds of jobs but never staying anywhere long.
The temp agency is actually her longest employment at one place, coming in at six months. I’m not sure if that’s because she got fired a lot or quit a lot. I haven’t dug that deep into her work history when I went poking around into her past. If I had to guess, it’s her quitting one job for another. She’s drifting, and the temp agency makes that a whole lot easier since they move her every few weeks.
I pull out my phone and make a few quick calls. It doesn’t take me long to get what I want. It never really does. When you have money, everything is at your fingertips. When I go back into the kitchen, Savannah has a bunch of shit all over the kitchen island, making her lunch. Her phone is pressed to her ear. She’s making a damn mess, but I couldn’t care less. I love seeing her in my space.
“Wait. Where?” She pauses for a long moment. I can’t see her face. She’s standing in front of the refrigerator with her back facing me. A small gasp leaves her a moment before she spins around. Her eyes lock right on me and narrow. “Okay, I’ll head there shortly. Thank you, Meredith,” she says before she ends the call. “You’re a brat.”
