Watching all the little subtleties in her expression—in her body’s movement and the way she quivers and shakes—is all just a drug for me. I never knew I could feel so alive. And I’ll never be able to get enough.

I leave my cock there, slotted inside her, while we both catch our breaths like we’ve been marathon training. Gently, I run my fingers up and down the length of Whitney’s soft back.

“I’m so getting pregnant from all the times you keep coming in me, you know?”

“I’m okay with that,” I reply with a chuckle.

“You must be pretty sure I’m not a gold-digger.” She smiles.

My chuckle turns into a laugh. “I’m a pretty good judge of people. If you’re a gold-digger with a scheme for my money, you’re doing an amazing job of pulling the wool over my eyes.”

Whitney looks at me and gently runs her index finger up my jaw and across the line of my cheek.

“I would never.”

The way she’s looking at me now—no one’s ever looked at me like that before. It’s a vulnerable intensity that finally makes me realize that now is the time to say it.

To say the words that have been building up inside me since Whitney and I met.

“I know that,” I reply. “And you know how I know that?”

“How?” she asks with a smile.

“Because I love you, Whitney.” Her jaw drops slightly, and her eyes glaze with the hint of tears. “And I would never be able to fall for a girl who would do something like that to me.”

It feels incredible saying those words to her. Words I thought I would never say to any woman. It’s like the entire world has changed. Like I’m a new man now. Up until now, Whitney and I have been sharing something physical and special together, but now, if she says it back to me, we will be sharing a bond much deeper than that.

“Ethan…” she whispers. “Oh my God.”

I reach up and gently stroke her face—her beautiful face that I am lucky to wake up to every morning.

“I mean it, gorgeous. I love you. And I’ve known it since the day we met.”

Her eyes are really watering now as she looks at me. Her lips are trembling, but she’s not saying anything.

Did I blow it? Did I move too fast?

Maybe I’m pushing her into something she’s not ready for.

After all, it’s not like I’ve known her that long–

“I love you too, Ethan!” she blurts out, throwing her arms around me. “I love you so, so much!”

Whitney

Two weeks later…

I’m still getting used to walking on solid ground again as I make my way down to the kitchen to pour myself a glass of orange juice. Ethan wasn’t with me when I woke up, and one of the house guards told me he’d gone out to inspect one of the factories and that he’d be back in about an hour and the in-house chef would make me whatever I wanted. But for some reason, I felt like making my own breakfast this morning, so I’m attempting to whip up an egg sandwich when I see an unfamiliar car parked out front of the gate.

It’s a Bentley, I know that much. White, and there’s a man in it waving at me, furiously trying to get my attention. For a moment, I’m confused, and even start to feel a bit unsafe, but then I recognize the man.

Justin Hathaway.

What the hell would he be doing here? Surely whatever his reasoning is, it can’t be good. If Ethan saw him here, he’d have him thrown off the property—and that’s if he didn’t go out there himself and rock him in the face with his fist.

Justin is really waving at me. What in the world could he want?

I know I shouldn’t go out there, but I also don’t want Ethan coming back and finding him there either. That will only cause problems, and the last thing Newhouse International needs right now, with the launch of the new generator so close, is Ethan getting in a fistfight with his main competitor.

So with a deep sigh, I set aside the egg I was just about to crack and head outside.

One of the guards has just caught wind to the strange car sitting outside and is walking out to investigate.

“It’s okay, Chuck,” I say, passing him. “I’ve got this.”

“Someone you know?” he asks, his voice suspicious. I just nod. Chuck doesn’t fully let his guard down, however, and only steps back halfway up the yard, keeping his eyes on me as I take the side door that leads out past the gate.

“Hey, there!” Justin calls out when I’m in range, leaning out his window with a smile. “It’s Whitney, right? Whitney?”

An unsettling shiver slides through me, and I cock my head to the side. “What are you doing here, Justin?”
