Their days on streets had been tiring and unproductive. Duke was getting antsy, thinking their bounty had skipped town. But something kept telling Ford that the man wouldn’t leave his baby brother to rot in jail alone. The Grossmans were too close for that. Ford and Brian understood this better than any of the other guys and kept telling Duke that John was going to avenge his baby brother, one way or another. Because that was exactly what Ford would do. He didn’t like to compare himself to a criminal. He was a sailor, a Special Warfare sailor. He didn’t break the law, had defended his country in times of war. But sometimes war and crime went hand in hand. Ford had been considered an honorable man until he broke the law, too. Military law. Tossed his career and almost lost his freedom… for his brother.

“Hey. Why you look so serious so early?” Dana’s sleepy voice filtered through his unpleasant memories. Ford looked down at his man. Yes, Dana Cadby was his guy. He wished he’d known months ago that Dana could make him feel as good as he did, because he would’ve pulled his head out of his ass a long time ago. And he didn’t only mean making him feel good physically, because Ford’s chest seemed to expand anytime Dana was around. Anytime Dana sought out his touch. Anytime Dana showed him attention. Anytime Dana showed his skills in the field. It was official. Ford had it bad.

“Nothing,” Ford murmured, leaning down into Dana’s hot skin, burying his face in the crook of his neck and breathing in his sleepy scent. Dana always smelled and felt so good to him, like the warm sunshine on his runs. Ford rumbled when Dana’s hands found his chest and started fingering the coarse hairs across his pecs. “Keep it up and I’m canceling our run this morning.”

Dana smiled up at him, looking like a young sex god. “That’s what I was hoping you’d say.”

Ford let Dana pull him back down, he didn’t hesitate to go willingly. He never did.

Ford and Dana had explored each other’s bodies most nights for a few weeks now, and each time it got better and more intense, but he’d yet to penetrate Dana. There was no particular reason, except Ford knew it’d been a long time since Dana had done it. And never for him, so he wanted things to be right… he wanted to be ready… meaning, he needed a little guidance.

That’s where Brian came in.

Ford debated for a while on who he would confide in to help with the basic questions he had. Duke was one of the first that came to mind, but the man joked too much. No doubt his boss would’ve turned his questions into a ridiculous after-school-family-life-special. Duke was all fear and revered on the streets, but behind closed doors and away from the office, he was an annoying goofball. The man was head over heels in love with his partner, so of course he was giddy ninety percent of the time. Ford wasn’t hating. He was finally starting to understand the excitement of having someone.

Having chosen his brother, they’d met up at Brian’s place a couple nights ago to have beers and relax while he helped Brian work on his boat, which he kept in his backyard. It was a small pontoon, just like the one they’d had when they were kids. Brian found it online when it was nothing but a shell and scrap, but after a year, it was starting to resemble what Brian had envisioned for it.

Ford enjoyed his time with his brother, just the two of them. It’d been a while. He’d been wanting to get up with Brian a lot sooner, but he seemed distracted lately. Anytime he or Dana asked Brian to come over, he came up with some excuse for why he couldn’t. And the excuses kept getting weaker until Ford knew Brian was flat-out lying and avoiding them. He appreciated his brother giving him and Dana space to grow their fresh relationship but no one could push Brian out his life. His brother had something on his mind too, but until he was ready to talk about it Ford wouldn’t push him.

Instead, Ford asked all the usual questions. The ones that made him feel like an over-protective brother, but oh well. He asked how Brian was doing with therapy. Did he feel he was progressing? Had he been doing his vocal cord exercises as instructed? Yep. Basically, all the questions that made his baby brother roll his eyes and give Ford the one-finger sign that everybody understood. No interpretation needed.

After a few beers and a sore back from hauling the materials to construct the new seats on the boat, they’d finally sat down and gotten to the nitty gritty. Ford was surprised how seriously his brother took his questions. He’d barely refrained from covering his face in mortification when he admitted to Brian that he wanted to make Dana fly in bed, wanted to make it the best he’d ever had. Brian had simply nodded and started advising. Even when it seemed to get a little uncomfortable for Ford, Brian kept him focused. Ford didn’t want to imagine his little brother doing some of the things he’d mentioned. Rimming, stretching, prostate massaging… it was a lot to take in. And a lot of images to try to erase from his head. Meaning, there were just some things a man didn’t need to know about a family member. Like their sexual preferences. But Brian kept it relatively painless. From what he understood, his brother didn’t want him to be a mediocre lover and insisted he tell him things in detail, even show him a short video. When Ford got back to his place, he went straight to the bedroom. He was used to seeing Dana laid across his bed or on his couch watching TV and Ford didn’t wait to show what he’d learned about the art of proper fingering.
