She grinned, shaking her head as she turned to kiss me softly. “I think I want it there.”

“Bad girl,” I groaned, smiling as I kissed her slowly.

“I honestly don’t know where the heck I’m going to put this though. There’ll be a few questions if I drive into the palace grounds in this thing tonight.”

“Or you could park it in bay number 5 of the private rare auto garage down the promenade from your father’s palace in the capital.”

Yeah, I’d already thought of the questions of her driving home in this thing. So I’d bought a garage too. For her.

Her brows shot up. “Seriously?”

“Very. Park your usual car there. Or the garage itself is behind the mall. You can always have your chauffeur drop you there and then go get your own wheels.”

“You’re a little too good at this, you know.”

I grinned. “At what?”

“Being bad.”

“And you’re a little too good at that.”

“At what?” she whispered as I leaned closer.

“Making me want to do very bad things to you.”

She blushed, raking her teeth over her bottom lip before she leaned in and kissed me softly.

“I want to just tell them.”

“I know,” I growled. “It’s complicated, with all the shit with those bullshit charges and all that. But soon, angel,” I whispered fiercely. “Soon, I’m coming to get you at that palace, and I’m not going to bring you back.”

She whimpered as she kissed me deeply.

“When am I seeing you again?”

“I have this…thing tonight.”

Goddamnit. I wanted to tell her, I just didn’t know how. My “thing” was a war room meeting with my lawyers and some of my royal advisors to figure out how to fight this smear attack. I just wasn’t ready to get her involved in all of that. I wasn’t ready for her to get dirty for me like that.

Faith looked crestfallen, but she shrugged. “That’s okay.”

“If I could—”

“It’s really okay.” She smiled, leaning in to kiss me again.

“Well, tomorrow, I’m gone,” she sighed. “I’ve got his thing in Robling.”

I grinned. “Guess I’ll be seeing you there.”

Her brows shot up. “Wait, are you coming to the wedding?”

“Your friend’s ass-backwards, antiquated arranged marriage to King Milton?” I scowled. “Yeah, I’ll be there.” My lips pulled into a grin. “I mean, of course I’ll be there. My wife is one of the bridesmaids, you know.”

Faith blushed.

“We’ll figure this out soon, angel,” I growled, determination blazing through me. This shit had gone on long enough. I’d been tired of it all before, but now with her part of it? No way. It was time to shut this circus down once and for all. And after that, there’d be nothing stopping me from telling the whole world about the girl I loved.

“Maybe…” She blushed, her hands tightening on my shirt. “Maybe we should try out the inside of the car before you go?”

“I think I’ve created a monster,” I growled, my cock throbbing hard again as I moved into her. “A monster who better get her fucking panties off and her ass up in the air in that passenger seat in the next twenty seconds.”

Faith giggled as she pulled free of my arms and darted for the car.

…Yeah, the shit that’d been hounding me for too long already had to stop. When it’d been just me, I’d been willing to grin and bear it — to shoulder that heat and take it on the chin for as long as they wanted to keep slinging it. But with Faith? No way. It was bigger than me now. It involved her, and our future, and our happiness.

…And if they thought they could fuck with that, they were about to learn a hard lesson.

But first, I had to go make my wife come again. At least three more times.

Chapter 11

Faith

“Hey, sorry about the car.”

“What?”

Lola blinked, like she’d just been completely zoning out during the movie we’d been watching. Which was totally fine because I’d been doing the same thing. I mean, it’s not like either of us didn’t know Chocolat by heart at this point anyways.

Lola was one of my best friends, along with Riley, the Duchess of Irin, and of course, Callie, Princess of Arbor. Callie was the one getting married in two days — this absurd arranged marriage too, like something from the dark ages. It was all to settle some debts — I wasn’t totally clear because in classic Callie fashion, she’d gone out of her way to be tight-lipped about it.

Hell, if I was being forced to marry King Milton like she was, you could be damn sure “tight-lipped” would be the last thing I’d be about it. But Callie was doing this for her family, which was noble, I guess. The important thing was for the rest of us to be there for her and help her through it. I mean King Milton was a disgusting troll of a man. It wasn’t exactly going to be easy for our friend.
