I smirked. “Just wanna know what you like. And I certainly love your ass.”

“I like it.” His voice was muffled. “A lot.”

I kissed his shoulder. “Noted.”

So I played a bit, alternating nibbling the meaty part of his cheeks with sliding a wet finger around his hole, making sure to be gentle and not irritate the skin more than it already was. Seth squirmed and rocked against me, and I was so turned on by his reaction, my shaft was leaving strings of precome against my abdomen.

I feathered kisses down his spine to the top of his crease, feeling him tremble and hearing him moan, and suddenly I wanted him in ways I’d never considered before.

Mine, I kept thinking. I wanted Seth to be mine. I wanted his mouth and skin and hole to be mine. And what was wrong with wanting someone all to myself? But I certainly didn’t want to push it, not when we were both experiencing all this for the first time.

Close to coming all over myself, I parted his cheeks again and planted a wet kiss directly on his hole. Mine, I whispered, and he shuddered. So I did it again, then gently blew over his hole, hoping to soothe the puffy skin and drive him wild at the same time.

Seth lost his mind, rocking and mumbling incoherently. He tasted a bit like latex, from the condom I’d used last night, and that, mixed with sweat and Seth’s unique scent, did something to me. I gripped my shaft to keep myself under control. Then I went all in, kissing, circling my thumb, then tenderly licking at the wrinkled skin around his hole.

“Oh God! Jake!” he called out as his back bowed, his body trembled, and he went sailing over the edge.

And holy fuck, just seeing how responsive he was to me made me jizz after only a couple of strokes of my shaft. “Goddamn.”

I pitched forward, sinking down on top of him, peppering his neck and ear and hair with kisses as we got our breathing back to normal.

“I can’t believe you… God, it felt so good.” Seth turned to face me, and we kissed lazily for a long time before finally rolling out of bed.

Seth showered first while I made us French toast from the bread and eggs we’d brought for the trip. I found a spice rack on the counter and sprinkled some cinnamon and nutmeg along with a splash of milk, remembering Mom’s recipe.

After we ate our fill, I showered and changed, before meeting Seth outside near the dock. We walked to the edge and sat down with our feet grazing the cool water.

“What does your week look like?” I asked him.

“The usual.” He looked away as if to hide his reaction. “Some new stuff too.”

“Yeah?” He stared at his feet, his toes dipping in the water, so I prompted, “Like what?”

“I, uh…” When he finally looked at me, his eyes were bright and clear. “I went to see an apartment.”

I straightened. Well, that was news. “You did?”

“Uh-huh, and I love it.” His eyes took on this whimsical, dreamy look, like when he’d purchased his Mini Cooper, so I knew for him it signified some sort of liberation, or maybe getting more comfortable in his own skin.

I cleared my throat, trying to take my time and not bombard him with a ton of questions. “Tell me about the place.”

“It’s in this quaint older building in your neighborhood, actually.” He motioned with his hand. “On Elmwood?”

“Hmm…” I glanced out at the water, trying to place the street but failing.

“Anyway,” he continued, his voice shifting toward excitement, “it’s a first-floor unit, and you have to walk through this courtyard with a fountain to get to it.”

“First floor?” I repeated, my hackles immediately raised. “Is there security?”

He squeezed my arm, but I spotted the wariness in his eyes. “Of course there is, silly.”

And as his demeanor changed, his eyes shuttering, his walls lifting, I could’ve kicked myself. I wasn’t used to people in my life not needing or wanting my help, and it was something I was going to have to accept. “I’m sorry. I know I can be overprotective. I don’t want you to think…fuck.”

His eyes softened. “It’s okay, I get it. You like to take care of people. You feel like you have to, but in this case…”

“You needed to do it on your own,” I said, and he nodded, lacing our fingers together.

We watched a speed boat sailing by us, spraying water in our direction.

“So did you take it, the apartment?”

I held my breath because there was something else there, underneath my concern for his well-being. I was proud of him for finding an apartment on his own, and yet I still wanted to be his safe place to land every night. I knew I was getting ahead of myself and needed to keep my desires in check.
