His entire body shuddered as he came, his come painting the wall and dripping across my fist as the room whited out and my own cock spurted my release down the drain.

“Fucking hot,” I murmured as I eased back, panting.

“Jesus, I needed that.” He pulled me to my feet and rested our foreheads together. Then he reached for the shower gel and finished washing us. His gaze was soft and adoring, which only made my chest ache more.

After we dried off and got dressed, we drove to a local pizzeria, where we drank the house wine, talked, and laughed about any number of things as we stuffed ourselves with a large pepperoni. On the way back, we stopped at a tree-lighting ceremony in the square, which somehow felt like a perfect nightcap to our evening.

But I could tell how exhausted he was from his trip, so I drove him home. He asked me to sleep over, and we crashed on his couch while watching a movie.

At some point during the ending action scene, Seth came home. Chuckling, he leaned over to squeeze my shoulder and kiss Jesse on the head, then mumbled a good-night.

Jesse roused for a bit and shifted to get more comfortable.

“C’mere.” I tugged him to lie on my chest, hip to hip and heart to heart. When he leaned up to kiss me, this meeting of lips felt different. Gentle and filled with affection, it seemed to deepen our connection with a quiet sort of vulnerability. My fingers stroked across his cheeks as I looked into his eyes, wanting to say so much but holding back.

“Dane, I—” The brush of his thumb against the pulse at my throat was tender, intimate, and made me ache with longing.

“What?” I whispered as my hand encircled his nape possessively.

“Nothing. I…” He shook his head. “I just wanted you to know that you’re one of my favorite people too.” Then he nuzzled into my neck and promptly fell asleep.

I stared at the ceiling, soaking in his warmth, marveling at how far we’d come.

Jesse

I was a little stressed out for tonight, which annoyed me. All these strange feelings were something I’d been experiencing too much since Dane went from dude who thinks I’m an asshole to dude I’m boning to dude I’m all googly-eyed over and in love with.

I’d been home from my parents’ place for a few days. We’d spent time together on each one, even if it was just a couple of hours here and there. There had been a change in us, in Dane, but I didn’t know if it was something he realized, or cared about, or something he wanted to go away. It had begun before I left for Thanksgiving, but it was even more intense now, and I couldn’t place my finger on what it was—not really. He looked at me a lot more, simply stared at me, and my insides would get all melty. He touched me more, and rubbed his hand over my buzzed hair, and just…sweet things? Almost adoring things? It was hard to explain, but I felt it.

It was Saturday night, we were in the Underground, and I was a bit nervous. I was doing things differently tonight, wearing a long, red, sequined gown with slits up the side at each leg.

“Hey, how’s everyone doing?” I asked in this smoky voice I thought was a bit hot, and judging by the way a lot of the guys looked at me, they did too.

Dane’s eyes shot toward me, and I did this little curtsy thing, which was hard in the dress, but a smile stretched widely across his face. I was pretty sure he liked it. “Hi, gorgeous. How are you tonight?” I asked through the mic, cocking a brow at him. Everyone looked his way, and Dane rolled his eyes but not in an annoyed way. More of a playful one.

I was careful as I stepped off the stage, but I was pretty fucking fabulous in heels, if I did say so myself, and began to walk over to where he was at the bar. We never flirted in the Underground. It wasn’t a show like the one in the Playground, but I wanted to have fun with him. And I wanted to do it on our terms, not Chet’s.

When I got to the counter, I leaned over it. “You gotta make sure my mouth doesn’t get too dry. I have lots of singing to do.”

Dane chuckled. “Yeah, I think I can handle that.”

“Aww, that’s so sweet!” I replied dramatically. “My boyfriend is the best.” I hadn’t planned the words, and the second I said them, I was pretty sure I was going to vomit all over the bar. Dane stared at me, and I stared at him, both of us silently acknowledging that I’d called him my boyfriend in front of everyone, and I was pretty sure we both knew I was serious.
