There was only one item left on the list:

Find a boyfriend

Ewan frowned. Surely that should be crossed off by now. At the top of the page were five completed items with a link. Knowing he shouldn’t be so nosey but unable to resist, Ewan clicked on it. He smiled as he read down the list of things Dev had checked off.

He heard the sound of water rushing through pipes as the toilet flushed. Knowing Dev would be back any minute, Ewan quickly marked Find a boyfriend as complete, and added Give my new boyfriend the blow job of his life.

When he heard Dev coming, he left the laptop open on Dev’s side of the bed and lay back down with his hands behind his head, trying to look innocent.

“All done?” Dev asked as he came back in.

“Mm-hmm.” Ewan tried to suppress a smile.

Dev shed his boxers and approached the bed. His gaze took in the open laptop and what was on the screen. “Hey. What are you doing in my lists?”

“Just making a few small changes. You forgot to tick off one very important one, and I added a new item for you.”

Dev lifted the laptop so he could read what was on the screen. He narrowed his eyes and turned a glare on Ewan, but his lips twitched, giving him away. “The blow job of your life, huh? No pressure there.”

“I’m sure you can manage it after all that experience you’ve been getting.”

“Oh, I don’t know. I think I still need to work on my skills.”

“Practice makes perfect,” Ewan said. “And there’s no time like the present. We’ve got half an hour before the pizza gets here.”

Dev put the laptop down and pounced. Straddling Ewan, he pinned Ewan’s hands to the pillows and kissed him hard before sliding down his body and giving him a wicked grin. “Well, I’d better get on with it, then.”

EPILOGUE

A few weeks later

Dev gazed at the sunset and took a sip of his lemonade. With Ewan’s arm around him, he was comfortable despite the sea breeze and the fact that he’d left his hoodie in the living room. Being with Ewan warmed Dev from the inside out. Surrounded by friends, with Ewan beside him, contentment filled him.

“So, what are your plans for next year?” Ewan asked Josh. “I assume you’re sticking around in Plymouth like these two?” He gestured to Mac and Jez who sat opposite, holding hands and looking relaxed and happy.

They were sitting out on Rupert’s balcony, with empty Chinese takeaway containers and bottles spread out on the table in front of them. It was a perfect way to celebrate the end of exam season for all of them—except Rupert, as the only non-student amongst them.

Dev’s exams had gone pretty well. He hadn’t got his results yet, but he was feeling confident. Ewan was less certain, but Dev thought that was just him worrying. He knew Ewan had worked hard. They’d revised together, using some of Mac and Jez’s revision techniques—blow jobs were very motivating.

Of all of them, this year mattered most for the three who had done their finals: Josh, Mac, and Jez.

“I’ve got a few interviews coming up,” Josh replied. “One for the finance team at the university, one with a youth charity, and one for a bank. They’re all local. Hopefully one of those will work out—subject to me passing, of course.”

“If not, you can be Rupert’s houseboy.” Jez grinned at him. “I’m sure he won’t mind.”

Josh flipped him the finger. He cast a sidelong glance at Rupert, who was sitting beside him, his hand on Josh’s knee. “Yeah, I think he’d live with it. But I’d rather be independent, thanks.”

Rupert gazed at him, pride and affection on his face. “You’re going to get a first, I’m sure of it. And you’ll have your pick of those jobs.”

Josh shrugged, but he didn’t deny it.

“It must be nice to be so confident.” Mac sighed. “I’m a nervous wreck waiting to find out how I did. I’m hoping for a 2:1, but I’m not sure I’ll manage it.”

“You’ll be fine.” Jez squeezed his hand. “I have faith.”

“Well, if I don’t do well enough to go on to do teacher training, I’ll have to be your houseboy.”

“I could go for that,” Jez said thoughtfully. “You’d look great in one of those skimpy little aprons that just covers your cock and not much else.”

Everyone laughed.

Ewan’s arm tightened around Dev. “I’m glad I’ve got another year before I have to worry about finding a job. I’m not ready for adulting yet.”

“What are you guys doing this summer?” Rupert addressed them. “Are you staying in Plymouth or going back home?”

“A bit of both,” Dev replied. “Ewan’s coming with me to visit my parents, and then we’re going up to Edinburgh so I can meet his family.” His stomach flipped with nerves at the thought.
