“He trapped her with his love child—or should I say, children? Childs? Dou? Duet? Double trouble twins?” Talon cracks up at his wit.

Am I the only one holding my alcohol?

“No shit?” Max smirks. “Guess wild suits you.”

“Jewls suits me,” I respond a little too forcefully, getting a howl from the guys.

“Happy for you, man.” He clinks his bottle with mine.

“Oh, shit,” Tom grumbles loudly from the bar, watching the bartender’s phone screen.

“Please let me stream this to the big screen,” she begs.

“Are you fucking crazy, Kay? I’ll have a revolt on my hands.”

“It’s awesome! I’m missing it!”

“So are we!” a few waitresses complain.

The hair on the back of my neck stands, and I know, without seeing, my woman is involved. I stalk to the end of the bar.

“Let me see,” I order.

“This was sent an hour ago.” The poor woman pales, and the sound of loud old-school rock fills the speakers as the large screen on the wall changes.

“Damn women!” Tom throws a towel, stalking to where a group of servers is dancing to the tune with the scene on the screen.

Harley is in the center, clad in a veil, sash, crown, and little glowing squares attached to her dress. On both sides, she’s flanked by Jewls, Ginger, Shayla, Rowan, Charlie, Presley, Raven, Abbi, Ella, Carson, Addison, and all the other girls. They are dancing on the bar at Coyote Ugly, a bartender going down the line to pour liquor in their mouths. Each of them dips provocatively, except for Jewls, who denies the shot and sways her hips.

A red haze fills my vision. Jewls’ dress barely covers her ass, her tits are popping out, and those fucking shoes.

My shoes.

Howls and cat-calls follow the performance, chorused by the staff of Tom’s watching with approval.

I take out a hundred, tossing it to the service bar, ready to go before the door of the bar slams open and the girls stumble through.

“Shit.” Talon points. “Are those condoms on Harley’s dress?”

Ace is across the room in a flash, Harley in his arms and stalking back to Tom’s office.

I stay planted, watching Jewls saunter my way. Her face is flushed, her eyes bright. They widen and fill with another level of happiness when she sees Max.

“Max!” She throws her arms around him, kissing his cheek.

He hugs her tight, setting her back and shooting a shit-eating grin my way. “Looking good, Jewls.”

Jealousy singes through my veins, and I grit my teeth, reminding myself who this man is.

“Honey.” Her fingers close around my wrist. “Lose the murderous leer.”

“It’s alright, I’m used to it.” Max arches an eyebrow. “Happens all the time.”

Jewls giggles, cupping his chin. “It’s a wonder you’re single. I know a few ladies—”

He puts his palm out to stop her. “Not interested in matchmaking.”

“But—”

“Absolutely no buts. Besides, looks like even the wild ones can be tamed.”

“Tamed? Are you calling me tame?”

He shrugs coyly, his grin twisting as he pushes her buttons.

“I’m offended.”

“I guess you’re right. Never lose that wild.” His eyes soften. “Congratulations, gorgeous. I’m happy for you.”

Her feisty spirit does a turn, and she squeezes his hand. “Thanks.”

He grabs another beer from the bucket and goes toward Finn, who has a deathly grip on his wife’s waist.

“Jewls?” I drop my eyes to her feet. “Your shoes?”

“What about them?”

I haul her into my arms, laying my forehead to hers. “You have flip-flops on the party bus?”

She shivers dramatically. “Of course not! This is not a flip-flop dress.”

“It’s a fuck me dress with fuck me shoes.”

“Only to the man taking me home tonight.”

The searing turns into something else entirely, and I lay my lips to hers. “All these women smashed except for you?”

“Not all.” She cups my jaw, urging my face to the side.

Robbie has Ember close, his forehead to hers as their lips move in conversation.

Their stance isn’t unusual, but it’s the way he’s staring at her. The intensity of pride and possession more than normal emitting from him. Similar to me. I don’t remember seeing Ember on the bar with the other women, and it hits me.

“Ember’s pregnant?”

“We’re due two weeks apart.” Jewls brings our faces back together. “I have a pregnancy buddy!”

“Good news, baby.”

“I mean, she’s already done this twice, but it’ll be nice to have someone to go through this with.”

“You have me.”

“You’re a boy! It’s different.”

I flex my hips to hers. “Not been a boy for a long time.”

Her eyes heat, a dark rim popping around the green. “I am well aware of that.”

“Let’s go home.”

“We can’t. Since you bullies rejected every one of my ideas for tonight, this is our last stop. I can’t believe in all the bars in Nashville, Harley’s bachelorette party ends in a blue bar.”

“She doesn’t look too upset.”

Jewls follows my line of sight to Ace and Harley exiting the back holding hands. All the condoms are gone from her dress, and the crown, sash, and dress are noticeably rumpled.
