I stand, and she takes a step back, almost bumping into a group behind us as I reach for her arm, causing her to gasp.

“Then again, maybe we do.”

“I have to meet someone,” she blurts out, her big eyes aimed at Andrew and Jax as if they can save her.

No one can save her now. I rarely, if ever, lose control, but tonight? This? I’m done.

“Don’t listen to Jett. He’s become a jaded man.” Andrew smirks and motions for Jax to move.

I hold up my hand, stopping Jax from getting out.

“She can sit here. I’m not staying long.” I smile as our eyes connect.

She must see I’m barely holding back my temper because she wisely slides in, setting her drink down in front of her. I slide in next to her and place my arm behind her, resting it on the booth.

“So, Cher, where are you from?” My voice barely hides my anger.

“Spain,” she fires right back, staring at Andrew.

“Spain?” Andrew nods, leaning back in the deep red leather booth. “Really? My family has a house in Marbella.”

“Lovely,” is all she says.

Jax grins, looking from me to her as Raven brings the martini to her lips.

“So, Cher… I take it your parents are big fans of hers?” Andrew smiles as he takes a sip of his drink.

“Clueless,” she says over the rim.

“Excuse me?” Andrew cocks his head.

“Clueless, the movie.” She looks at them. “Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd…” Both Jax and Andrew simply stare.

“Great movie. You should see it. Anyway, that’s who they named me after.” She sets her glass down and starts to fish out a blueberry.

“Another one?” Andrew chuckles.

“Please.” She nods, biting her lip, and I can feel my jaw clench as Andrew flashes her a grin and moves out of the booth. Christ, can he be more obvious?

“So, Jax…” She scoots a little away from me and crosses her legs. “I met your brother and his wife Tess.”

Jax smiles. Fucking Saddington twins. We run in the same circles. I think Jax is seeing someone. Not sure, though. I only got here about ten minutes before Andrew dumped my Lolita on us. Before he can answer, I say, “Where?”

Her eyes slant over at me but stay focused on Jax. “It was at Gia Fontaine—”

“Actually, I think she goes by Granger, now,” I say, cutting her off.

This time she does turn to glare at me. “If I’m not mistaken, she’s kept her maiden name professionally.” She blinks at me, and I can’t decide if I want to shove my cock down her throat or spank her ass.

I shouldn’t engage. But screw it, I want to see her squirm. “Small world. I was there also.” Not caring in the least that Jax is watching us as if we are an amusing movie, I briefly reflect on how much his stupid dimples aggravate me.

“Really? My daddy brought me so…” She smiles sweetly at me, and I almost choke on my bourbon.

“Here you go, my angel.” Andrew places another martini in front of her and settles back in the booth.

“What’d I miss?”

“Oh, not much.” Jax motions with his glass of bourbon at Raven.

“Apparently, Cher has a Big Daddy who took her to the Gia Fontaine-Granger exhibit, where she met my brother and Tess.” Jax nods as he covers his laughter by drinking his bourbon like a shot, then stands.

“Good seeing you, Powers, and good luck.” His eyes drift to Raven while he walks past us toward the end of the bar.

“Wait. You’re kidding me?” Andrew sits up. “Do you know each other?”

“I need to use the restroom,” Raven snaps as Andrew glares at me.

“Of course.” Sliding out of the booth for her, I look over at Andrew who is not even hiding his disapproval.

“You’re fucking shitting me?” He leans back in the booth. “Well, I guess I don’t need to ask how things are with you and Rachel.” He shakes his head, mumbling into his drink.

“We’re fantastic.” My eyes follow her tight ass as she exits the bar; then I reach for my own glass of bourbon and slam it.

“I need to go,” I say tersely.

“Of course.” Andrew shakes his head. Not that I give a shit.

I weave around people, my mind on autopilot.

Livid.

Not sure if it’s more at Raven or myself. She came here to get fucked.

Fucked.

By a stranger, and I’ve been using my hand? The fuck is wrong with me? Bringing out my phone, I text Iain to bring the car up front. I’m done. My head is pounding. Heaven help her when I find her, considering the mood I’m in.

I turn the corner, and there she stands with her credit card in her hand at reception. A blond moron in a suit stands smiling at her. Apparently, she thinks she’s getting a room.

“There you are, sweetheart.” I walk up and slide my arm around her. She stiffens but stays quiet. The moron behind the long marble counter looks completely disappointed.
