“Fuck me, I don’t need a new mother,” Beckett mutters, coming up behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist.

“Aw, come on. She’s lovely,” I chuckle.

Beckett pinches me lightly, of course.

“I’m glad you’re talking to your dad again,” I say, smiling fondly at the older man.

“You didn’t give me a choice,” Beckett grunts.

“Oh, right. Well, I’m still glad.”

He squeezes me. “I’m glad you’re still a fuckin’ pain in my ass.”

“I did warn you,” I grin, spinning around to face him.

He leans down, kissing me.

“I’ll take it,” he murmurs.

“Ugh, you two, get a room,” Ramona grins.

I smile.

Well.

Who’s the lucky one now?

Meanwhile, a few blocks down, in a very large house with a very rich man and his beautiful daughter...and the other one. The bad daughter. The naughty daughter.

Oh. Wait. That’s me.

“I’m not going back in there, daddy,” Becky says, her arms crossed over her chest, her face scrunched up in the most perfect manner. “I can’t do it. It hurts too much.”

Poor Becky.

“Well, I need you to,” The all-mighty says, his voice firm.

My father is a powerful man, also really dangerous and very criminal. He’s not happy about the mess Becky got herself into. The cartel might be off his back, but now he has other fish to fry, bigger fish, leather fish. Fish that swim around in a little clubhouse up the road. Fish that are playing in business that my dear daddy isn’t too happy about. He owns this town, or so he thinks. He doesn’t like anyone else messing with that.

He wants information.

He wants Becky to go back in. After all, she already has a foot in the door. Considering she was screwing one of them for months to get information for the cartel.

She’s not happy about the idea.

She’s too heartbroken after having an affair and being deceitful.

Boo hoo.

“I can’t,” she says, shaking her head. “I’m sorry. I have enough going on. I can’t deal with Beckett any longer.”

“You’re alive by some sheer fucking miracle, Rebecca. I think you’ll do whatever the hell I ask.”

I watch, kicked back on my father’s sofa, my converse covered feet on the coffee table, crossed. He hates it, but he’s doing his best to ignore me. After all, I’m the child he wishes someone stole from the hospital before he was forced to bring me home. I’m sure of it. I’m not perfect like Becky or intelligent like my brother, Brad. I’m just the pain in the ass wild child he can’t seem to shake.

“Can’t someone else do it?” Becky pleads, her face a little pale.

“Oh, me, pick me,” I say, putting up my hand.

“Stop it, Gabriella.”

My father’s voice is low and deep, a warning tone I pay no heed to.

“Come on,” I say, shrugging. “Nobody knows about me. You do a good job keeping me a secret. Let me go in there. I can get information. I need something to do. Becky can’t handle it. She’s too fragile. Look at her, she looks like she’s going to have a breakdown.”

“Shut the hell up, Gabby,” Becky snaps, her eyes narrowing.

“Aw, poor baby,” I push my bottom lip out. “All heartbroken because she got tangled up in the wrong mess and got hurt.”

“Enough,” Dad barks, his eyes zoning in on me.

“She can’t do it, daddy,” Becky says, her voice careful. “I can’t do it, but neither can she.”

“I’m more capable than you,” I point out.

“You can’t even stay sober for a week, let alone do something this important,” Becky snaps. “Some of us have class, Gabby.”

“You can turn a mop upside down, dress it up and call it classy, but you can never take away the fact that at some point in its life, it mopped up piss.”

Her face goes red.

Yes, that’s right, I’m talking about you, princess.

She might dress up fake and live the perfect life, but Becky is no better than the rest of us.

“Becky is right, Gabriella. You can’t handle something like this. You wouldn’t even know where to start.”

I cross my arms. “Try me. Let me show you I can get in there, and you can make a decision.”

“How the hell are you going to get in there?” Becky snaps. “You can’t just walk into the club and join in. That’s not how it works.”

“Wanna bet?” I challenge.

“Fuck,” Dad barks. “I don’t have time for this shit. I’ve got bigger things on my mind. Fine, Gabriella, you prove to me you can get in there without suspicion, and I’ll consider letting you get the information.”

I look to Becky with a grin. “Oh, goody.”

Those bikers won’t know what hit them.
