Fawn

“You’re staying here tonight.” Sylvester ruins the moment with his mouth, verbalizing a command instead of putting it to good use in another way. The lust-induced fog I was in dissipates faster than free-falling off a cliff. How he can go from rocking my world to trying to piss me off in less than two minutes is a mystery to me. Actually, no, it’s not. I’ve seen this side of Sylvester Sterling, usually in the court room, commanding the jury with his presence and argument alone. On the phone with a client who is in hysterics, he’s calming while still dominating the conversation, steering it in a way that soothes the person on the other end of the line.

“No, I’m not,” I disagree, gearing up on the plethora of reasons as to why I’m not. “Don’t even start. I’m going first. You’ll convince me in that charming way of yours. Blind I am not. For starters, I don’t have clothes here. No pajamas, not a toothbrush, and I’m for damn sure not wearing this to work.” I point at the wrinkles; they’re there for duration until I’m able to wash them the clothes. “And what are we even doing here, Sylvester? You expect me to drop everything when you’ve avoided me for two months now.” I cross my arms over my chest, wrists be damned. I’ll deal with the pain of the pressure on them later. If it weren’t for both of Sly’s hands on my hips, holding me in a firm grasp, leaving not the slightest wiggle room, I’d jump off his lap. I’m not playing his games. My heart isn’t looking to get hurt, and the feelings I have for Sylvester, there’s no way I’d come out unscathed.

“I’ve got a toothbrush, and you can wear a shirt of mine. We’ll stop on the way to the office for you change into new clothes, or I’ll order them to be delivered. There’s a big if anyways should you feel better to work or not. As for the other, not a Goddamn hour went by that I didn’t think about you like this, Fawn. Staying away from you wasn’t an option. There’s a reason my door has been open, that I’m drinking more coffee than I ever have in my life, and why I’m asking you the dumbest of questions. There’s nothing I get more pleasure from than watching your tight ass flit to and from, reading your annoyance at my demands, and seeing the submissiveness you give only to me. So, yeah, Doe, I fucking see you. I see every part of you. And while I took my time, I knew the wait was going to be well fucking worth it.” I hate the term stunned speechless, fish out of water, left with my mouth hanging open, yet that’s exactly what I feel like at this very instance. When I talked to my sister, she told me to take charge, go after what I want. I’m not that person, and it seems even Sly knows that because he just knocked the wind out of my sails for any excuse I could possibly come up with.

“How long?” I ask. He doesn’t respond. Maybe he’s unsure of what I mean. “Sylvester, how long?” Maybe asking again will get him to speak. Highly unlikely judging by the way he flexes his cock against the seam of my pussy, trying to throw me off the question. I give him a few more seconds, hoping he’ll answer me. If not, I’m out of here. This man has been the star of every fantasy since the moment I walked into his office, and when we shook hands, I knew it was more than a fleeting moment. My heart sinks at the thought of him leaving my question unanswered. Essentially out of hope, I go to stand up, wiggling backwards, thinking Sly will get the memo, but he does not. Instead, he’s standing up, hands holding my hips all the more firmly.

“From the very first moment, it took all of my willpower to stay away from you. There were too many variables. You’re my secretary, for one. Your father is another issue. Jesus Christ, Doe, everything is working against us. I’ve got a damn issue that I’ve been working on for two months now. Ask me if it stopped me from thinking about you. Go ahead.” He places me on his desk and stands between my thighs, my ankles still hooked around his lower back.

“Did it stop you?” I give in to him, too easily.

“Not for one fucking minute. The world could be catching on fire, Fawn, and I’d walk through it to get to you.” Never in a million years would I have ever thought he’d admit his feelings. And while it’s not some grand gesture of love because we’re not there yet, at least I don’t think we are, or maybe he’s not. Me, on the other hand, it could happen so easily. While Sylvester may not be easy going like some, for me, it’s as simple as breathing. He bends down. Our gazes stay on one another, his dark brown eyes to my hazel, neither of us blinking. The only sound in the room is our heavy breathing.
