Terry was grinning as he nodded toward the stairs. “Then I’d say you should definitely wash off the frosting smell, but you better not clean your room or he’ll think you’re somehow capable of being tidy.”

Tori turned to head toward her room, but then glanced back. “I think he’s special, Terry.”

“I believe you may be right, Sis.”

She was excited as she rushed to her room, pulled off her clothes, and headed for the shower. She washed her hair and then picked up her razor and tried to slow her heart rate as she shaved. She didn’t shave that often since she usually wore jeans to work and no one had ever in her life run their hands up her legs.

Was it possible Evan might touch her calves tonight? She shuddered, almost slipping and nicking her skin at the thought. She was getting ahead of herself.

When she finished her legs, she glanced at her private parts. Shit. Should she shave there too? She’d never done so, but she’d heard Ellie and Daisy—from the flower shop—talking about it one time. Maybe all women shaved that hair too.

After a moment’s hesitation, Tori set the razor down. With her luck, she’d end up cutting herself. She was in too much of a hurry to shave her intimate parts right now. Besides, good grief. She wasn’t going to have sex with the man on the second date.

She did hope he touched her legs though. She intended to wear a dress.

As she stepped from the shower, she realized she had no idea where they were going tonight. She should have asked. Too late now. He was probably on his way over.

She quickly put product in her hair and used her diffuser to dry her hair in nice ringlets that hung haphazardly around her face. There was nothing else she could do to tame the mop. It wasn’t like Evan hadn’t seen her wild curls. She got the impression he liked them.

Rushing into her room, she pulled open a drawer and grabbed a matching bra and panty set. It was the only matching set she owned. They weren’t fancy. Just white with a little bow at the front of the panties and the middle of the bra.

She stared at herself in the mirror. Did she look too childish? Blowing out a breath, she shook the concern. Evan had made it clear he thought he was her Daddy and she was his Little. Surely he didn’t care if she had babyish undergarments.

She grabbed the dress she’d chosen next and slid it over her head. It was a simple cotton dress with spaghetti straps. Pink. A bow tied at the center of her back. It reached almost to her knees. She grabbed white sandals and a white sweater next and dropped them on her bed before rushing back to the attached bath to put her favorite pink lemonade lip gloss on.

A knock sounded at her door before she’d added her sweater. Darn. Was it already six? After one more look in the mirror, she spun around and hurried across the room to open the door.

Evan was leaning in the doorframe, looking so incredible she lost her breath. He had on khaki pants, a white button-down, and loafers. His hair was slicked back and damp as if he’d recently showered.

His eyes widened as he stared at her. She didn’t think he was breathing. His gaze ran up and down her form before settling on her face.

Finally, he shoved off the doorframe and sauntered into her room, sucking up all the oxygen. He reached out, cupped her face, and stroked her bottom lip with his thumb before lowering his face to kiss her gently.

“You look so pretty, Tori. You take my breath away.” He tapped her lips. “Sorry if I messed up your lip gloss. I needed a kiss. I loved the lemonade flavor of your lips.” He smiled.

She flushed, absently bringing her hands together between them. She hadn’t even realized she was about to pick on her nail polish when he wrapped his larger palm around hers and squeezed. “No reason to be nervous with me, remember?”

“I don’t think you can order me to not be nervous,” she pointed out.

He chuckled. “I suppose you’re right. I’ll just have to prove it’s not necessary.” He pulled her into his arms and held her against his chest. “So this is Tori’s room.”

She flinched and tipped her head back. “I’m a mess.”

He smiled. “I see that.” His gaze wandered around as he slid her to his side, still keeping his arm around her.

“Terry told me it wouldn’t do any good to try and pretend I’m someone I’m not.”

“Terry is a smart man and an amazing brother.”

She followed his gaze and cringed. “I’m really bad.” Clothes were everywhere, but also her bed was unmade, which meant he could see her pink sheets—the ones covered in white sheep. Thank goodness she had a full-sized bed or she wouldn’t be able to find a spot to sleep among all her stuffies. Coral was now resting in the most special spot—her pillow.
