Theresa bumped me. “You look amazing, and everyone knows it,” she whispered. “Don’t you dare start feeling self-conscious about it, Queen Ramsay. Wear the crown.”

A knot had started forming in my stomach, but at her words, it eased. “Thank you.”

She grinned. “For what it’s worth, I’m glad Gem wouldn’t shut up about you.”

“Same.”

“Oh God. PJ.”

“PJ!”

We paid for our tickets, and I gestured to Clint where we were going. He gave me a thumbs-up. PJ was lounging against the fence when we got there. He straightened. “Finally. I gotta take a piss now.”

“Nice,” Theresa said.

It was a chain-link fence. The holes were big enough to pass the thermoses. I reached over and made sure the tops were on tight before pulling them through. “Thank you.”

He’d gone back to looking at my legs. “Thank your pants. Damn, I wish you weren’t Clint’s cousin.”

Theresa gave me a knowing smirk. “Scout hasn’t seen you in them yet.”

My stomach tightened. “Girl.”

She burst out laughing. “I’m kidding. You ready to tackle the bleachers?”

I nodded, sipping some of my vodka.

We moved back to where everyone was sitting. I felt the attention as soon as we started up the stairs of the student section. Kira and her friends were smack dab in the front row, but Clint was farther up. He waved, indicating there was space by him. I nudged Theresa and jerked my chin up. “Clint’s up there.”

Theresa headed on up, but I lingered, and then I felt him.

Scout was coming in from the far end of the bleachers. His eyes were right on me, darkening as he drew closer.

I couldn’t move, not at first. I swallowed over a lump in my throat before heading where Theresa had gone.

He followed me.

“What’s up, man?” PJ had his hand out for Scout, who was behind me.

PJ moved around me to greet Scout.

Theresa shifted so I was between Clint and her, and we clinked thermoses, taking another drink.

“I want some.” Clint reached for my thermos.

I let him have it.

“Yo, man. Up here,” someone called. A couple of the guys moved over so Scout ended up right behind me.

Oh boy. I was going to feel him the entire game. His attention. His presence. His heat. Him, him, all him, and yeah, the throbbing had full speed ahead.

“Hey, man.” Clint turned, greeting Scout.

“That what I think it is?”

“Yeah.” Clint grinned. “It’s hers.”

“Can I have some?”

Clint handed it over. “You’re drinking tonight?”

“Taking a night. Then back to training tomorrow. I took a fight—”

“Stop!” I twisted around, locking eyes with Scout.

Clint frowned.

“I mean, nothing.” I turned back around. Then cursed because Scout had my vodka. I twisted back and took it from him. “This is mine. No sharing.”

I felt a hand on the back of my shirt, pulling me backward. A tattooed arm came around me and took the thermos back out of my hand. Scout took a long drink before putting it back into my hands and letting my shirt go.

My body felt like an inferno.

I caught Theresa shaking her head, and when I looked over, she mouthed, So hot.

This was going to be a long-ass football game.

RAMSAY

I was not getting drunk. I didn’t even have a good buzz. Scout and Clint had consumed most of my alcohol. I tried sipping from Theresa’s, but she caught on and drank most of it before I could force her to share with me.

So, she was buzzing at least.

However, I was buzzing from having Scout continuously grab my shirt and pull me back so he could get to my vodka. It took me halfway through the game to realize he was also looking down my shirt, and then during the second half of the game, he managed to rub his finger on the inside of my shirt.

I looked around, but somehow, only a couple of people were watching us. The guys on both sides of him were standing forward, blocking his movements. It took me only a little longer to realize they were doing that on purpose. And by that time, I didn’t want to slap his hand away.

Clint just kept shaking his head. At one point, he leaned over to me. “The second any feelings start, you’re done. Remember that shit.”

Shit. I gulped. “I will.”

He looked back and gave Scout the middle finger.

Scout just tugged my shirt, working his entire hand under to press against my back.

I shuddered.

Theresa kept trying to sip more of her drink, the drink she’d finished before halftime.

The buzzer finally sounded, signaling the end of the game.

“I have to piss.” Clint jumped around me, rushing off.

Theresa turned my way, biting her lip. “You gotta go too?” I asked.

She nodded.

I waved. “Go. I’ll catch up.”

She thrust her empty thermos at me, so I was now carrying two. I stayed in the stands because most everyone around me was talking to each other. Kira and her friends had moved down to the sidelines and were standing front and center.
