“Well, I’m sure you won’t have to wear whatever outfit they give you for long,” he told her, dragging his eyes away from the enticing sight. “We just need to get into the venue, find the Chief Agent, and get her to release the records to us and give us the address for the last member of the Sacred Seven.”

“All right…” She looked at him speculatively from the corner of her eye. “Since this is a formal event, are you going to have to, er, ‘kiss my panties?’”

Torin felt his shaft throb in the confines of his trousers.

“Probably,” he growled. “Is that going to be a problem for you, Mistress?”

“Not at all.” Sky’lar arched her eyebrows at him. “In fact, I think I might enjoy having you on your knees.”

Her words sent another charge of desire through his system and Torin had to bite back a groan. Gods, what was wrong with him, reacting to his new partner this way?

From the minute she’d put a knife to his throat and pressed herself against him, he’d been allowing himself to take the submissive role in this partnership—which was something he’d never done before with any other female. And he’d been enjoying it, Torin admitted to himself. What the fuck was going on?

Well, he had to be the submissive one on Yonnie Six, he reminded himself, deciding to worry about it later. But that didn’t mean he couldn’t also be protective—a good bodyslave kept his Mistress safe no matter what the risks were.

Opulex was rumored to be a dangerous city. He would watch Sky’lar’s back and make certain she was safe and secure at all times. And if he had to drop to his knees and kiss her panties to do it, well…that was just part of the job.

Right?

SKY

“Now then, now then—welcome to Opulex, Mistress. I’m so glad you landed safely!”

Lil’ Choo bowed nervously several times as he looked up at her. It was a perfectly ridiculous name, Sky thought. But then, the little bodyslave with his puff of pink hair seemed to fit it rather well.

They had landed on the eightieth story of an extremely tall, silver tower in a small, private docking space.

“Well—here we are.” Torin had given her an unreadable look from his golden eyes. “Are you ready to do this?”

“Are you ready?” Sky had countered. “Ready to play my bodyslave?”

“I’ll play any part I have to in order to catch this son-of-a-bitch,” he’d replied steadily.

Sky had arched an eyebrow at him.

“I might have to be very convincing to get these people to cooperate with us. We’re not going to be equal partners when we exit the ship.”

“Do whatever you have to in order to get what we need,” Torin growled. “Whatever you can dish out, I can take…Mistress.”

Sky had shrugged.

“All right. Let’s go.”

She had taken him by the leash attached to the thick black collar around his neck and led him out into the docking area where Lil’ Choo was waiting.

“Would you care to come with me, Mistress Sky’lar?” he asked now, rubbing his hands together nervously. “We can get you dressed and then up to the party—it’s being held in the Penthouse suite.”

“Very well.” Sky strolled along behind him, letting the little bodyslave lead the way. Behind her, Torin was like a silent wall of muscle. He walked smoothly on the leash, though Sky still felt somewhat awkward holding it.

Lil’ Choo led them into the building by a private entrance and Sky saw they were in a kind of lounge with pale pink carpet and bright pink couches to sit on. There was also a 3-D viewer set up in one corner with a small circular stage in front of it.

“This is…a lot of pink,” she remarked, looking around at the garish color, which even extended to the pink and white flocked wall coverings.

“It’s my Mistress’s signature color,” Lil’ Choo said helpfully as he brought out a floating rack which had several frilly looking garments in various shades of pink hanging from it. “She insists that everything be coordinated—myself included.” He gave a nervous little laugh as he indicated his dyed pink hair and the pink sparkly makeup around his eyes.

“Yes, well I hope you don’t expect me to wear it,” Sky said, giving the garments on the floating rack a severe look. “I can’t stand pink.”

The Serpentines wore mostly earth tones, which accentuated their scale patterns. Bright, artificial colors got on her nerves.

“You can’t? Oh dear!” Lil’ Choo looked extremely upset. “But I’m afraid…that’s almost all my Lady wears!”

“My Mistress’s signature color is black,” Torin rumbled, speaking up for the first time. “Maybe you can find her something in that color?”

“Oh, you speak, do you?” Lil’ Choo looked up at the giant Kindred apprehensively. “My, you’re a big boy!”

“Of course he speaks!” Sky snapped. “Do you think I would have a bodyslave I can’t communicate with?”
