So we’d done the deed which I’d known about for a little while now or at least ever since Patti’s ass whipping, I’m still a little surprised that he actually let that one slide, I was sure that if he found out about my escape he’d hit the roof but he let me off the hook that one time.

Now we’re married and I’m still on cloud nine, Joshua has been amazing since my whole near death thing, he still has his moments where he’s a raging jackass and I want to maim his ass but all in all he’s proven that he loves me beneath all that gruff caveman behavior.

That night after we’d said our vows I wasn’t aware of his little plot against that idiot Josie but I remember questioning why he had to go ahead to the venue without his new bride, I’d finally decided that he must’ve had some sort of surprise in store for me and boy was I right; to an extent.

Walking into the room on Joshua’s arm we’d stayed hidden behind this big ass tree display and with me being nervous as hell around all those strangers I hadn’t paid too much attention to what was going on, then I’d noticed that skank sitting at a table with what had to be her following, a group of females that she seemed to reign supreme over. She was preening and primping when the dude on the Rodney started speaking and looking around as though searching for someone. She seemed rather excited for someone who’d just basically lost the guy she’d been scheming after, it was only after the guy announced Joshua and I that I saw the look of horror on her face and the way she tried to shrink into herself as some of the girls at the table started laughing and pointing. Seriously, people needed to choose their friends better.

We walked into the room to a standing ovation and I forgot all about her for the next little while as there were so many people coming up to us to congratulate us. Then we were joined by the rest of the family and all the Steeles’ friends were congratulating them and the next thing I knew Joshua and I were receiving envelopes that Margaret told me to keep in this kick ass silk bag she passed off to me. By the time I remembered the skank she was no longer at her table. I searched the room but couldn’t find her anywhere.

“What’re you doing lamb?”

“Nothing, I thought I saw Josie earlier but she’s not there anymore.”

“Probably home packing for her trip to Europe.”

“What?” That was a bit confusing, and why the hell would he be knowing that?

“Kill the death rays babe, my dad had a word with hers about her part in what happened to you; I’m pretty sure he suggested either boarding school away somewhere or jail. Either way she’s fucked.”

Did I mention that my husband is one scary guy?
