“Don’t do that. He’s got such a pretty face,” Ruby said as she set down Gannon and Braxton’s drinks.

Gannon huffed.

Ruby looked around the table. “Ready to order?” After we gave her our orders, she nodded. “I’ll get you your drink first, Brody.”

“Thanks, Ruby.”

She turned on her heels and headed off.

“So, I take it things are going well with you and Sutton then?” Gannon asked.

I couldn’t keep from smiling. “Yeah, things are going good.”

My brother and Braxton both grinned.

“I’m glad,” Brax said. “You both deserve to find happiness. And just think, you won’t have to deal with planning some big wedding like Gannon has to.”

Gannon rolled his eyes. “You did luck out on that part.”

I shrugged. “We may plan a small wedding later. For now, though, we’ll just sit back and enjoy watching you and Addie stress out over yours.”

Braxton laughed.

My expression grew more serious. “Jack was back at the store yesterday, harassing Sutton. We found out he still had a key, so I had all the locks changed today.”

Braxton’s eyes went wide. “What the hell is wrong with that guy?”

I shrugged. “He’s a nut case.”

“Were you there when he showed up yesterday?” Brax asked.

“I was. He now knows she’s married to me, and I gave him a little parting gift as well.”

“Tell me it was your fist in his face,” Gannon said.

I smirked. “That’s exactly what it was.”

“Why does he even want her back? They didn’t have a happy marriage,” Braxton said with a shake of his head. “Why is he harassing her? He fucking cheated on her.”

I rubbed at the back of my neck and glanced around the restaurant. “I have some more information about him, but I haven’t told Sutton yet.”

They both frowned. “What kind of information?” Braxton asked.

“The kind that’s not going to make your sister happy at all.”

Gannon and Braxton said in unison, “Shit.”

CATCH AND RELEASE

Seasiders,

It seems the newly married couple, Sutton and Brody Wilson, are enjoying married life

while Adelaide and Gannon’s wedding is right around the corner. No news on the docks if Sutton and Brody will have a real wedding of their own.

One can only imagine if Mr. Wilson was the cause of the recent changes at Coastal Chic. As reported last week, Sutton is now carrying a sexier line of clothing, as well as lingerie and, well…this article is PG, so I’m not at liberty to share the little secret of the upstairs loft. You’ll have to go and check it out for yourself.

Now that Mr. Wilson is officially off the market, people are buzzing that Braxton Bradley should be named this year’s Catch of the Season instead. Maybe our newest Seaside resident, Dr. Mason Bryan, should toss his name into the hat. He is, after all, single and handsome to boot.

Speaking of the new doc in town, it’s been reported to me by a few lobsters that there seems to be an influx of sick, single women flocking to appointments with the good doctor. I’ll keep an ear to the pier for any more information.

Fair winds and following seas!

“Wow,” Palmer said with a giggle. “Whoever’s writing this really doesn’t like Brax.”

Addie and I both laughed. We’d all decided to meet for lunch at our folks’ restaurant today.

Palmer shook her head. “I still don’t understand how they know so much.”

I nodded. “Every time someone comes into the store, I wonder if they could be the potential writer. Clearly, they’ve been in the store if they know about the naughty loft.”

“I do that too!” Addie said. “Every time a patient comes in. She…or he…isn’t wrong, though. The office has seen a big increase in single women since Dr. Bryan took over the practice.”

Palmer leaned back in the booth with a thoughtful look on her face. “What’s he like, Addie?”

Addie set her fork down and wiped at the corners of her mouth. “I’m glad you asked. I was actually going to talk to you about something. But first—he’s very nice and seems like a great dad. He’s had to bring Charlie to the office a few times, but he’s such a sweet kid, you hardly even know he’s there.”

“Why is he bringing him into work?” I asked.

Addie drew in a deep breath. “Dr. Bryan has a great bedside manner with the patients, but he seems to be struggling with trying to balance his work life and home life. He had a live-in nanny before he moved, but she didn’t want to relocate from Portland.”

Palmer raised a brow. “A live-in nanny, huh?”

Laughing, Addie added, “She was fifty-eight and a widow. I seriously doubt there was anything going on between them. He asked me if I knew of anyone who might be interested in watching Charlie. I mentioned you, Palmer.”

“Me?” Palmer asked in a stunned voice. “Why would I be interested? I have a job.”
