She gyrated her hips under me, meeting my thrusts with rhythmic precision and taking everything I was giving her.

“Please forgive me if I come too soon. I swear to God, Elodie. I’ve never felt anything so good. You’re fucking amazing. I have to find a way to do this every day with you.”

She was so incredibly wet. She had her hands wrapped around my neck and her legs around my back. I looked down at her face. Her eyes were shut tight, her mouth open. She looked like she was in ecstasy, totally in a zone, and it pleased me that I was the one putting her there.

I began to fuck her harder as she squeezed her muscles around me. My cock was so deep inside of her now. It felt warm and safe, yet at the same time like I’d taken my first hit of a drug that would have me hooked for life.

I moved my hips faster as I felt her contract. When she suddenly moaned, I realized she was climaxing. I couldn’t believe she’d lost it before I did. Shaking and pulsating, she screamed in pleasure as she came. I would have been willing to bet her friend next door could hear it; that was how loud she was.

I finally let myself go, unloading an endless stream of cum into her and mentally claiming her as mine as I experienced the most intense orgasm of my life. I didn’t slow down until every last drop had emptied out of me. The movement of my hips finally stopped just before I buried my head in her neck and kissed her softly.

Within a minute, I felt ready for round two.

Elodie panted. “So freaking worth the wait.”

Fucking her was everything I’d imagined it to be and more. If this woman wanted me, there was no doubt in my mind that she had me for life.

For life.

I’d really just thought that? I waited for the panic I was certain was about to hit.

But then I felt soft lips against my cheek, and I pulled back to look down at the woman beneath me. Elodie had the goofiest ear-to-ear smile on her face. The front of her blond hair was glued to her head with sweat, and the back stuck up and out all over the place. She looked a mess, but a beautiful and thoroughly fucked hot mess. She also looked truly happy. And you know what happened then?

I smiled back at her.

That panic I’d been waiting for never came.

Chapter 36

* * *

Elodie

I had to slap my hand over my mouth to stop from cracking up when Hollis turned his back to me.

We had taken a bath together. I’d needed the long soak after all the exercise we’d gotten in bed last night. Muscles ached that I hadn’t even realized I had. I couldn’t count the number of times we’d had sex. All I knew was it had been a long time since I felt this satisfied.

I’d drawn the bath while Hollis was still sleeping, and he’d surprised me by joining after I’d settled in. But when we were done, I’d lied and said all of my towels were in the laundry and handed him one of my furry winter bathrobes to dry off. I don’t know how I kept a straight face as I encouraged him to put it on—telling him the inside had more moisture-wicking ability than the outside.

Now I had this gorgeous, normally stern, wound-too-tight, six-foot tall, masculine man standing in my bathroom wearing a bright pink fuzzy robe. He turned around and caught the gigantic smile on my face.

His initial reaction was to return the smile, but he’d already gotten to know me pretty well. He knew the difference between my happy smile and an amused one, and the progression of his own smile halted as he squinted at me.

He looked around the bathroom. “There’s no linen closet in here. Where do you keep your towels?”

I tried my best not to laugh. “In the closet right across the hall.”

Hollis’s eyes dropped to my smile, and then he examined my face some more. Without another word, he opened the bathroom door, stepped into the hall, and swung open the linen closet.

Ten fluffy, clean towels greeted him.

He stood with his back to me, looking into the closet for a long moment. Then he very calmly closed the closet door and turned around to face me. The smile on his face could only be described as wicked. It shot straight to between my legs.

He arched a brow. “Are you enjoying yourself?”

I arched one back and a little chuckle escaped. “I am.”

He took a step toward me, and, instinctively, I took one back. Seeing me retreat turned up the volume on his already mischievous smile.

“Nervous I might get even?”

My face should’ve cracked from how wide my smile stretched. “Nope. Not at all.”
