“Have a good day, then,” Lincoln told him, dismissing Officer Lucky and his partner as he walked over to us.

I looked up at Lincoln as he came to a stop in front of me. Without a word, he cupped my face in his hands and slanted his lips across mine. I moaned softly, and my body shuddered when Jessie slid his hands under my shirt slightly, his hands sliding across my belly.

Lincoln slowly pulled back from me and ran his eyes over my face for a moment. “This town better fucking realize that you’re not standing on your own anymore,” he said gruffly, running his thumbs over my cheeks.

“Six years ago, I would have gotten arrested on less,” I quietly reminded him. Jessie’s hands tightened on my waist for a moment at that reminder. I gently ran my hands over his forearms.

“Not anymore,” Lincoln promised, making my heart flutter in my chest. “Jessie and I are here now, and we will fight everyone tooth and nail when it comes to you.”

I swallowed past the sudden lump in my throat at his words. Jessie pressed his lips to the side of my head, letting them linger for a moment. “Easy, baby,” he whispered.

Lincoln looked over my head at Jessie for a moment. “Shut the garage doors,” Jessie said after they had their weird, unspoken conversation. “We’re closed for the rest of the day.”

My breath hitched in my throat. “Jessie, what—” I gasped when he suddenly spun me around to face him. His hand laced into my hair before he yanked my head back and slanted his lips across mine. I moaned as I wrapped my arms around his neck, eagerly kissing him back.

I vaguely registered the sound of the garage doors closing before Jessie gripped my ass in his hands and lifted me up. I released a soft whimper and I tangled my fingers in his hair, wrapping my thick thighs around his hips, unable to stop myself from grinding against him. He was already hard, and I couldn’t wait to feel him inside of me again.

Jessie set me on top of the desk before he swiped everything off of it. He then gripped my face in his calloused hands and kneeled so his dark eyes were level with mine. “Let Lincoln take care of you, baby.”

Nervousness ran through my veins, and I knew Jessie could see it reflected in my eyes. I hated hiding anything from him. He was the one person in the entire world that I always wanted to be open with.

“No, baby girl,” Jessie soothed. He brushed his thumbs over my cheeks. “I’m not leaving—not fucking going anywhere,” he assured me. “Let Lincoln take care of you.”

I swallowed past the lump of fear in my throat but nodded my head. He pressed a soft kiss to my lips before he stepped back from me, allowing a now shirtless, perfectly sculpted Lincoln to take his place. My breath hitched in my throat as I ran my eyes over the beautiful, perfect man in front of me. He was hard muscle everywhere, not a hint of fat on his body.

“If you don’t want to do this, darlin’, all you have to do is say the words,” Lincoln assured me as he reached up to tuck my red hair behind my ear.

I swallowed thickly and looked up into his mesmerizing blue eyes. “I do want this,” I told him honestly. Lincoln knew as well as I did that I wasn’t one for lying. “But I can’t lose him, Lincoln.”

He cupped the side of my neck and leaned down, soothing his lips over mine. I moaned softly. “You’ll never lose him, babe,” Lincoln soothed. He gently turned my head, and my eyes latched on Jessie. He was leaning against the wall, his dark eyes almost black in color as he watched me and Lincoln together.

Lincoln slowly drew my face back around to look at him. “Trust me,” Lincoln said softly.

Those same two words he had said to me all of those years ago. I’d never forgotten those words.

My throat closed up with tears. I wasn’t used to being taken care of like this. I wasn’t used to someone—hell, now two people—wanting to protect me, to be around me, to be my shields.

To want me.

I twined my arms around his neck and leaned up so my lips brushed his.

“I will always trust you, Lincoln,” I whispered.

With a low growl, he tangled his hand in my hair and kissed me deeply—roughly.

And just like that, I was lost in him.

Jessie

If she was with anyone other than Lincoln, I knew I would lose my shit.

But fuck if she didn’t look perfect as she responded to his touches, her body shuddering as she moaned softly. She needed to realize that I was okay with her being with him as well. I knew Lincoln would take care of her, that he would be what she needed him to be. West deserved every single bit of happiness, and I would do my damn best to make sure she got it.
