When he raised his eyebrow questioningly, I gave a faint nod. He carefully began opening my shirt, working his way down as he licked his lips. “What kind of list do you have?”

I couldn’t tell if he was teasing and leading me somewhere or honestly curious, but I answered him truthfully. “I want to talk to you about limits and fantasies and expectations and definitely punishments. I plan on starting first thing tomorrow over breakfast, so don’t expect to leave early.”

His lips quirked faintly, showing that he liked that idea, but he was still intently focused on carefully stripping me, even going so far as to loosen my belt so he could pull out my shirt tails. “Well, this is probably the point where I should tell you I don’t have any plans for tomorrow.”

That was definitely moving us in the right direction.

“Then I’m definitely going to take my time.” And rework some meetings.

It looked like my days of working seven days a week were probably over.

“You said that was our plan for tomorrow, but what was our plan for tonight, Sir?” Something about the discussion or just the way he was easing my shirt down my arms had his submission coming back to the surface and his tone softened.

“You’re going to take your time cleaning me before I get you all scrubbed, and when I’m all done with you, we’re going to go to bed.” Nodding toward the laundry basket as he took the shirt in his hands, I let him sink deeper into that side of himself. “If you’re a very good sub and cuddle me all night, I might let you come again in the morning.”

His body went boneless for a moment before he straightened and nodded. “Yes, Sir. I can do that.”

“Good pup.” Giving him a soft kiss on the forehead, I looked down and gave him an expectant expression to let him know he needed to finish his job.

As he set back to work with his intent focus, I cupped his face and caressed his cheek with my thumb. A shiver raced through him as I spoke, teasing his curiosity again. “Now I just have one more thing to decide.”

He managed not to ask for about twenty seconds, which had probably seemed like an eternity to the inquisitive sub. “What kind of decision, Sir?”

Tracing my thumb over his lips, I smiled as he moaned softly. “If I’m going to let you be the big spoon or the little spoon.”

I was expecting a smile or maybe even a teasing response, but he nearly melted again. “You’d let me be the big spoon?”

Nodding, I moved my hand to the back of his head and kissed him softly. “There’s no place for domination or submission when it comes to spoons, pup.”

I didn’t know what kind of morons he’d dated, but there were too many fascinating sides to Bishop to ever label him as just a little spoon…and I was going to enjoy getting to know every inch and aspect of my new…

Um, friend?

Shit.

Another conversation to add to my to-do list…after I got him all squeaky clean.

Chapter 9

Ian

Was there a polite way to ask if Bishop had slept in his clothes?

Wasn’t that what he’d been wearing to the party?

I wasn’t sure if I should be asking what he’d done last night or what he’d done after the party on Friday. It definitely wasn’t my place, but I couldn’t help wondering why he seemed so happy this morning.

Still struggling through the questions running circles in my head, I jumped when he laughed. “Just ask.”

Shit.

He knew I was nosy.

Wait.

Did that mean he really had slept in his clothes?

Where had he been since Friday?

Blinking, it took me a second to respond. “Ask what? I need more coffee, sorry. Some guys from work slept over on Friday and then Kenton was over late last night. I should’ve gotten more sleep.”

I didn’t mean to upset him, but something had Bishop frowning into his coffee. “I’m sorry. I didn’t think that this might be too early. You said breakfast worked into your schedule because you were so busy this week, and—”

Shit.

“No, it does.” Shit. Shit. Shit. “Some mornings just come earlier than others, and I basically had too many sleepovers this weekend.”

That hadn’t come out right.

I found myself blushing as he chuckled and gave me a teasing, almost…maybe flirty grin. “I don’t know if I should ask what sleepover means in this context or not. I wouldn’t want to pry.”

I was going to call bullshit on that once I stopped blushing.

Groaning, I picked up my cup and took a long sip of my coffee. I managed to buy myself a few seconds, but Bishop just laughed. “Come on. The fun kind or the fun kind?”

“You’re outrageous.” Shaking my head, I knew he could tell I wasn’t serious when his grin widened. “Neither if you must know. Just friends hanging out.”
