Dipping his head, he peeked up at me through his lashes and shrugged like it was nothing, but I could see something bright in his eyes as he spoke again. “I wasn’t sure what you wanted.”
Now we were getting somewhere.
“I can’t remember when Bishop and I had this conversation, but it wasn’t long after our first date.” Smiling at the memory, I probably looked goofy, but it seemed to relax Ian. “I was talking to your Daddy and he wanted to know how we should handle firsts.”
Ian licked his lips and sat straighter. “I told Daddy that I wanted to do firsts together.”
Nodding, I squeezed his hand, loving the way he made sure I knew what he wanted. “That’s what I told him too. I said that if we were going to make a relationship out of the three of us—not something casual, but if he knew he wanted us to be together—then I wanted our firsts to be together too.”
Nibbling on his lips, Ian took a moment to respond. “Daddy said that he knew, didn’t he?”
“Oh yes, cutie.” Bringing my other hand over, I traced the veins and the faint freckles on the back of his hands and smiled. “He knew, without a doubt, that the three of us were meant to be together.”
There’d been no doubt in his mind and I wanted Ian to know that, so I looked deep into his eyes and made sure he heard the sincerity in my voice. “I knew how sweet you are and how sexy you are, and I knew if he could see our future, then who was I to second-guess the most confident pup ever.”
Chuckling softly, Ian squeezed my hand and shook his head. “He’s very good at getting what he wants.”
“He is.” But that wasn’t the only reason I was falling for our cute boy. “But even Bishop’s headstrong self-assurance couldn’t make me feel something for you that wasn’t there.”
Our pup wasn’t magic.
“So I want you to understand that when I told him yes, I wanted our firsts to be together, I knew exactly what I was saying.” I was just slightly more cautious than our rambunctious pup. “I know our relationship didn’t flash as quickly as yours did with Bishop, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been waiting for his moment, cutie.”
His pink cheeks were back, but he didn’t let his eyes pull away. “We’re all very different, so no two relationships will look alike.”
So cute and so brave.
“That’s right.” Before I could figure out what I was going to say next, he gave me a sweet smile that derailed every thought.
“You’re my Dom and he’s my Daddy.” Then the cheeky cutie winked. “And I know exactly who to go to for desserts and more toys.”
Groaning, I shook my head before finally giving in and grinning. “Cheeky brat.”
He giggled. “That’s not a no.”
“Uncle Cohen is the mushy pushover.” My stern look sent a shiver through him. “But your Dom is a bit more wicked than that.”
The needy sound he made went right through me, but it was his words that had me imagining doing wicked things to him in the restaurant. “Uncle Cohen gives me kisses and reads me books, but my Dom flogs me and spanks me. I’m a very lucky boy.”
And I was a very lucky Dom.
“You’ve also got a Daddy who thinks you hang the moon and who loves your mischievous side and your cute but completely manipulative one, two, three scam.”
Laughing, he shook his head. “No, I’m very sweet. You and Daddy said so.”
Who was I to argue with such smart men?
“Is that so?” Stroking my fingers along his wrist and up his arm, I loved the shiver that went through him as his fine hairs tickled my fingers. “I think we need to discuss that idea somewhere we have a bit more privacy.”
His wide needy eyes were filled with naughty curiosity, but he nodded and swallowed, not letting any questions escape. “Yes, Sir. I’ll be very good for you.”
Oh, I certainly hoped not…not too good at least.
Chapter 11
Bishop
Shit.
They were fast.
Slipping back into the downstairs spare room that had been magically turned into every child’s dream playroom, I hid in the darkness as Ian giggled and Cohen sent him upstairs. I was pretty sure the faint pop I heard was Cohen’s hand against Ian’s ass, but it was hard to tell over the clomp of feet on the stairs as Ian ran to obey his Dom.
They were so cute…but I was being tortured.
Waiting had never been something I was good at, so I probably should’ve remembered that when we’d come up with the plan to surprise him. But thankfully it was almost over as Cohen peeked in the playroom, narrowing his gaze and frowning at me.
“I texted you when we were leaving the restaurant so you wouldn’t get caught.” Cohen’s lips twitched, trying not to laugh as he shook his head. “He almost saw you in the window.”
