“He is at your brother’s house with Caleb.” I laugh, getting into bed with her. “He is over his baby sister and her nighttime routine.”
“He isn’t the only one,” she says, closing her eyes just as Victoria yells. “I swear it’s like she feels my body relaxing.”
She sits up, grabbing our daughter from the bassinet to hold her. “You are more beautiful than the first time I met you,” I say, and she looks over at me.
“Then I think you need to get your eyes checked.” She laughs, grabbing the pillow and lifting her blouse to feed our daughter.
“Are you done watching?” She looks over at me, and I lean over to kiss her.
“Who would have thought that after only one night, we would be here?” I say, and she looks down at our daughter. I look up at the frame that was over her bed and now hangs over ours. “You will forever be my always.”
The phone on my nightstand starts to ping, one after another, and I look at her. “What in the world?” I say, and then her phone beeps three times.
I pull up my phone and read the headlines.
Dallas Oilers Owner and Most Eligible Bachelor is no more. Nico Harrison marries oil heiress Laurene Christy.
“Oh my god,” Evelyn says from beside me. “Where’s Becca?”
I pick up the phone and dial Becca, who doesn’t answer. “Becca, it’s me.” I can only imagine what she’s going through. “Call me. Come here. I’m here.”
“They were just here together,” Evelyn says, and I look down at my phone, hoping someone can answer the question on everyone’s mind.
Where is Becca?
