“Are you sure?” I ask her. She smiles and gets on her tippy-toes and kisses my lips.

“I’m going to go to the bathroom, and then you can google,” she teases, turning and walking to the bathroom.

I sit on the bed, opening my browser and asking the question. The bathroom door opens, and Jillian comes out wearing a robe. “Are you hungry?” she asks, and I look up.

“I am,” I admit to her. “Do you want to get dressed, and we can grab something and head to my place?”

“Only if you promise me that you aren’t going to freak out, and if I want to use your body and your big dick, you’ll let me.” I shake my head as she wraps her arms around my neck. “Promise me.” And it’s at that moment where I know I would promise her anything.

I push her hair over her shoulder. “I promise.” I kiss her lips. “Now let’s get dressed.”

She slips on tights and a white tank top, her small belly sticking out. “You look sexy.” I smack her ass when she comes next to me after I finish buttoning up my white dress shirt.

“You don’t look so bad yourself.” She laughs, grabbing a sweater and putting on her sneakers. “I’m ready.”

We walk out of the apartment, and I grab her hand, slipping my fingers with hers. “I like this,” she says softly when we walk toward my SUV. I open the door for her as she stands in front of me. “Can I kiss you?”

“Why would you even ask me that?” I look down at her, and she just shrugs, avoiding my eyes.

I put my hand under her chin and raise it. “You can kiss me any fucking time you want to.” She leans in and kisses me, getting into the SUV and not saying anything more.

I get into the SUV, starting it, and something isn’t sitting right with me. “Why would you ask me that?” I look over at her.

“I don’t know.” She mimics me, putting her back to the door. “I don’t know the rules. I don’t know if you want anyone to know we, you know.” She uses her fingers, pointing at me and then to herself. “Are together.” I watch her struggle with what to say, and I grab my phone and pull it out of my pocket and call her. She laughs, shaking her head. “What are you doing?”

“Well, you obviously have something to say, and you always tell me when you’re on the phone.” The ringing stops, and I can hear her voice in the phone as it goes to voice mail. “You going to tell me, or am I going to have to go into your house and call you?”

She shakes her head. “I don’t even know how to explain it,” she starts. “If people see us together, what are they going to think?” I look at her, confused. “Do you think if I wasn’t having your baby, we would be together?” she finally says and takes a big exhale right before her eyes meet mine.

“Like if I wasn’t having your baby, would you want to be with me?”

I hold up my hand. “Yeah, I got the gist of the question the first time you said it,” I say. “Is that what you think?” I ask her, and she just shrugs.

“I have no idea what to think,” she answers me.

“What would you say if I told you that I came to see you the week after?” I say, and she just looks at me, confusion filling her face. “The Sunday after I came here, and you weren’t home.” I admit it finally to her, “I waited for about an hour, and then my sister and my cousin convinced me that it was a bad idea.”

“What?” she whispers.

“Yeah, they said it looked like I was a stalker and that your neighbors would most likely call the cops on me since I was sitting in my car that whole time.” I shake my head. “I knew they were idiots. I even wanted to leave a note, but then Dylan said that it would scare you off.”

She leans over the middle console and crushes her lips on mine. “For future reference,” she says, her hand going to my cheek as she rubs it with her thumb. “Don’t listen to your cousin.”

I laugh. “Noted,” I agree and push the hair away from her face. “Now, did that answer your question?” She nods her head. “Good.” I kiss her again. “Now let’s get some food.” She sits back in her seat and fastens her seat belt. “Because there is more that needs to be said.”

Chapter 34

Jillian

He kisses my lips. “Now let’s get some food.” I sit back in my seat and fasten my seat belt. “Because there is more that needs to be said.” I look over at him, not sure what more needs to be said. “Grab my phone,” he says. “And check the Uber app and see if there is anything there you want to eat.” Grabbing his phone I look at him for the code. “It’s one two three four.” I laugh.
