When I open my mouth to moan for him again, I feel Rhys’s palm clasp over my lips, keeping me quiet as he pushes his shaft even deeper inside of me, the motion causing something in my lower abdomen to clench so hard it feels like I’m on the verge of busting out of my skin.

He hisses, “You naughty girl. Don’t be too loud, now, darling.” He smirks. “We wouldn’t want anyone to hear us making music in the conference room when we’re supposed to be in the studio.”

I nod in agreement as my pussy tightens around his still-thrusting cock.

God.

Oh my God.

I’ve never been fucked like this before in my life. It’s so immediate and primal, like all Rhys cares about is taking and all I care about is giving him whatever he wants. I’m so enamored with being fucked by Rhys that I know I couldn’t care less if someone did walk in on us. I’m not sure I’d really care if the building was on fire, either.

Fuck.

No wonder Rhys is such a playboy in Hollywood. My mind wanders for a moment, imagining how many other girls he’s fucked just like this, maybe even on this same conference table. But instead of shifting into jealousy, something else starts to form in the pit of my stomach, something that’s confusing but feels right as my thighs begin to tense and shake for him.

I like being one of the girls Rhys wants. I like that he could hardly control himself in rehearsal, that my silly dress-up plan had worked, that there’s something crackling between us even now, even as a familiar pleasure rolls across my veins.

“I’m coming…I’m coming…” My words come out muffled behind Rhys’s palm, my thighs trembling as my walls close in tight around his shaft, as it feels like air is being forced right through my lungs. Rhys then pushes into me for what seems like the final time, his body soon going still as he rests his head against my shoulder.

Chapter 5

“For chrissakes, it is another Matilda situation,” Cameron says to me angrily, almost as soon as Rhys and Alyssa leave the studio.

My mind is way too far away to give him any kind of response, my thoughts currently lingering on Alyssa Smith and the ridiculously slutty outfit she’d shown up to rehearsal in. Before then, I’d never thought about her looks too much, because I really never thought of her at all. But when I spotted her in those high heels, tight skirt, and crop top, I realized how much I liked her when she wasn’t dressed up just like every other wannabe popstar on the planet.

Alyssa when she’s just wearing her usual T-shirts and jeans, her natural state so effortless and relaxed, is perfect. It shows she’s confident enough in her talent to not try to rely on her body.

Even though she could 100 percent rely on her body if she wanted to.

“Hey, are you listening to me?” Cameron presses. “You realize that Rhys and Alyssa are hooking up, right?”

I force myself to give Cameron my full attention. “What makes you think that?”

“Why else do you think she showed up to rehearsal looking like that?” Cameron frowns. “And why do you think those two ran out of here in such a hurry?”

“That doesn’t mean anything,” I reply with a shrug. “Besides, even if those two are hooking up, who cares? It’s not going to last. Maybe we’ll get some good music out of it.”

“Yeah, right. Dream on.” Cameron chuckles. “You know it and I know it: Rhys is a shit songwriter. The only heartbreak we’d get anything out of is yours, and I don’t think you even have a heart to break.”

“I have a heart, Cameron,” I reply with a grin. “I’m just not a complete idiot with it.”

“Yeah, yeah, whatever.” Cameron waves a hand, before he starts to play a sweet-sounding melody on his keys.

“Is that new?” I ask, peering over at him. “Sounds good, whatever it is.”

“Yeah, well, I figure I might as well start working on some new material to pitch around, since Rhys is hell-bent on keeping us in these studio sessions and not on the road.”

“Who said anything about you boys being stuck in the studio?” Gregory asks as he walks into the studio, a wide smile on his face. “I was just coming to tell you the good news—”

Gregory pauses, and his eyes scan the room. “Where’s Alyssa? Where’s Rhys?”

“Alyssa needed to go home to take care of something,” I lie. “And Rhys is just being Rhys. You know he lives on his own timetable.”

“Goddammit.” Gregory sighs before he goes on. “Well, I’m sure you two will be willing to share the good news.”

“Which is?”

“I think it’s time for the band to start recording a debut album,” he continues. “Get some songs together. Take them on the road. Start seeing people’s reactions.”
