Vars stalled in confusion, but only then realized that Jake was right. In the heat of the moment, he’d given Jake an order instead of a request. He wouldn’t admit it, but even after coming, it gave him a kick to find out that his boy had been so eager to follow Vars’s command that he hadn’t noticed it aligned with the power of the collar.

“I’m sorry. I release you.”

Jake stretched his arms with a groan. “I’ve… No one’s ever given me head.” The confession was a whisper, as if that was a shameful secret, but instead, it fueled the fire inside of Vars, which burned along with anger. Jake deserved better than serving a bunch of men who didn’t understand his needs.

“You can start learning how to sixty-nine once we wake up,” Vars said in the end, gently kissing Jake’s mouth as he relaxed next to him.

Jake smiled and leaned in for a warm hug. “I’m so pumped out that if you want me to go to my bed, you’ll have to carry me. But I’m guessing you don’t?”

Vars laughed and nuzzled Jake’s neck, closing him in his arms. “Yours is bigger.” And when he looked around the room, he added, “I also left the door wide open.”

Jake groaned and pressed his head between Vars’s pecs. “It’s fine. No one’s ever in this part of the building at night. Unless Elliot’s ghosts like to spy. Then we’re screwed.”

Vars shook his head, not caring about this at all. If it were up to him, he’d let everyone in the clubhouse know that pretty boy Jake was now taken.

Chapter 15 - Jake

Jake woke up groggy and tired, but it was the slight ache in his ass that quickly reminded him about last night. But he didn’t even care about the discomfort—the sex had been too epic. It was the memory of the transformation he’d lived through last night that woke him up.

His hand went up to the collar around his neck. Still there and as steel hard as it had been last night. He looked around with a groan, but Vars was nowhere to be seen.

That was somewhat disappointing, considering how possessively he’d acted during sex, but Vars wouldn’t be the first man to exaggerate commitment once his dick took over his mind.

Jake rolled in the sheets and pulled a pillow closer to his face, cuddling up to it. His body was still mostly asleep, and with no one telling him to get up, he didn’t feel up to it anyway. Outside, it was already bright, which at this time of the year meant that it was past 8:00 am. He might have overslept a little bit.

No one was calling him though, so he would rest, inhaling the scent Vars left on the pillow. He wasn’t sure what to do about the new development between them, but there was no use fighting it anymore. Vars had a way of affecting Jake even without a patch on his cut, and life was too short to ignore such strong chemistry, especially now that Knight was off the table.

Though to be fair, given the choice, Jake would choose Vars’s authoritative charm over sucking off Knight any day. The way Vars had put Jake in the center of attention had a warm feeling spread in Jake’s chest.

He flinched when the door slammed open, sitting up in case it was one of the patches, but when Vars backed into their room, Jake didn’t even try to suppress the smile blooming on his lips. The strong scent of fresh coffee penetrated Jake’s nostrils.

Vars grinned at him and shut the door with his foot, presenting a tray of food. Pancakes, syrup, bacon, some kind of salad, as well as coffee. “You slept in. Did I tire you out too much?”

Jake stared, so completely bewildered he didn’t know what to say. “Is that… breakfast?” No one had prepared food for him since he’d moved out of his family home. There were those times when he was treated to something while the girls were cooking for a group of people, or during large gatherings, but none of it had ever been made specifically for him.

Vars snorted and carefully placed the tray on the bedside table, pushing the lamp against the wall in the process. “Yeah. I woke up early and thought you could use an energy boost,” he said and sat on the bed, pulling Jake close by the collar.

Their lips met briefly, but the touch was enough to send the butterflies in Jake’s stomach flying.

“Thank you,” Jake said with a wide smile. “I guess, I did get tired yesterday. And that was even before the fucking.” He still couldn’t believe he got pancakes in bed and that the man who’d fucked him last night had made the effort to cook, so he grabbed one just to see if it was real.
