“Are you sure about this?”

“Yes,” she moaned between kisses, her legs tightening around my hips as she rubbed herself against me.

My cock thickened to almost painful levels, punching against the zipper of my jeans. I kissed her harder, grinding against her soaked panties.

“I want you to be my first,” she whimpered against my lips.

Her words hit me like a hammer. I froze and pulled back.

Be my first.

She looked up at me from the pillows, her beautiful face flushed with desire, her hooded eyes heavy with lust, her sweet lips kiss-swollen and wet.

“You’re a virgin?”

She nodded. “Yes.”

Suddenly the gravity of what I was doing slammed into me.

A virgin.

With a huff I let out the deep breath I didn’t realize I was holding.

Chastity was still a virgin.

And she was offering it to me.

If I was that level of asshole, I would keep going.

But that’s the thing, I wasn’t a dick.

Taking her virginity wasn’t an option for me.

This. Us. What was happening… yeah, it wasn’t going to happen.

I pulled away and climbed off the bed, raking my hands through my hair as I paced the floor.

“What’s the matter?” she asked, sitting up.

“We can’t do this.”

“Why?”

I couldn’t miss the hurt in her voice. Fuck. The last thing I wanted to do was hurt her even more. But this… this was insanity.

That little bit of information had suddenly changed everything.

She looked up at me, her large blue eyes wide and confused. “You don’t want to have sex with me?”

Christ, if only she knew what those words alone did to me. I was so fucking hard for her it was making me see stars.

I sat down on the bed next to her.

“I’m too old for you, baby girl. You don’t want to do this.”

She huffed out an angry breath. “This again? You’re really going to start with the age thing? It didn’t matter two minutes ago when you were grinding up against me.”

That memory alone was enough to make me want to rip her panties off.

“You’re a virgin,” I said.

“So? You were too once upon a time.”

I gave her a pointed look. “Losing your virginity should mean something. It should be special.”

“And you’re saying this isn’t special?”

“No, that’s not what I’m saying.”

“That’s exactly what you’re saying.”

“No, it’s not.”

“What, then? If it’s special, then what’s the problem?”

“The problem is that you should be with someone special for your first time.”

“I thought I was.”

“I care too much about you, angel.”

“That doesn’t even make sense. If you care about me so much, let it be you who takes my virginity.”

I raked my hands down my face. She wasn’t going to make this easy.

“One of us needs to be the voice of reason here,” I said.

She swallowed deeply, her face open and full of pain.

“Why is it such a big deal?” she asked.

“Because it’s a big decision. And if it isn’t, then it should be.”

“Don’t I get a say?”

Tears sprung to her eyes and she looked away. Sitting down next to her on the bed, I gently placed a finger beneath her chin and turned her beautiful face back to me. “What are we doing, sweetheart? You know this isn’t for us.”

She turned away and I cursed myself for letting this happen.

For letting this get so far.

I reached for her hand. “I’m too old and grumpy for such a beautiful young thing like you, Chastity. You should be with someone your own age. Someone who isn’t as jaded and weather-beaten as me.”

“You’re talking as if you’re an old man. You’re thirty-nine.”

She tried to pull her hand free, but I held onto it.

“You should be dating guys your own age. Not climbing into bed with a dusty old biker.”

She looked at me, her beautiful eyes full of rejection. “I don’t want you because of how old you are, or what you are, I want you because of who you are. Age shouldn’t matter. And it doesn’t, not to me.”

She bit her lower lip and it was all I could do to not take her beautiful face in my hands and kiss her seven ways to Sunday.

“Surely there is a nice guy… a nice, younger guy, out there.”

“I’m sure there is, but I’m not interested in him.”

“How do you know?”

“Because I’m interested in you,” she said softly.

I pushed a lock of hair behind her ear.

“It’s just a crush,” I said. “For both of us. And if I let anything happen, then we’d end up regretting it.”

She dropped her lashes and I could see the hurt on her face.

“You’re a beautiful girl, Chastity. I bet there’s a hundred guys lining up to date you.”

She looked away. “You sound like Bryce.”

“Bryce?”

“A guy in my science class. He’s asked me out a few times.”

“Maybe you should go?”

I hated the words the moment they left my mouth.

I didn’t want her to go on any dates.

But I had to do the right thing here.
