“You wanna get out of here, honey?” she moaned in his ear while nervously looking around and scanning the bar.

He turned his face toward her and took in the long, fake lashes hiding her timid brown eyes. The dark eyeliner was smudged in the corners as if she’d been crying… or maybe sweating. The long auburn hair was thick and not styled. The oily strands looked like she hadn’t washed it in a couple days. Her breath smelled like whisky but her lips were full and he found himself wanting those lips someplace else.

“Yeah, why not,” he slurred. God was a damn good instinctual cop and even though he was highly inebriated, he recognized this wench’s hustle immediately, but he’d hoped he could get his cock sucked and get out of there before trouble started.

She led him into the dark seclusion of the back alley and maneuvered him up against the wall. He looked down into her eyes and saw the mischief dancing within those giant brown orbs.

“Suck me,” he demanded. He wasn’t gonna wait for her boys to show up.

She looked at him nervously.

“Don’t act like it’s your first time.” He smirked. He watched her slide down his long muscled torso until she was squatting in front of him. She slowly undid his zipper and clumsily fumbled his semi-erect cock out of his jeans. “There you go, sexy-lips, get that big cock in there.”

God rested his head against the bricks while his dick was engulfed in that hot, moist mouth. He fought not to close his eyes, knowing he had to keep a look out. She sucked him hard and fast. She wasn’t great, but she wasn’t terrible either.

“You let them use you like this?” he said in between moans. She paused and looked up, pinning him with a look that said, “Why would you say that?” But he just put a heavy palm on the back of her head and guided her back to her job. “If you don’t mind them using you, then I’m not gonna feel bad about using you either.”

She pulled off him with a slick pop and huffed an annoyed breath. “What the fuck are you talking about?”

He yanked her up by her forearm and glared at her. “You know what I’m talking about.”

As if on cue, three guys came down the dark alley toward them. He turned his hard eyes back to her and shoved her away from him. “That’s what I’m talking about. So how many guys have you set up tonight, huh?”

“Leave, Brenda. Now!” One of the guys approaching barked the order at her, making her jump and scurry to pick up her purse off the ground. She ran toward the other end of the alley without a backward look at him.

God groaned and slid his zipper up. “You guys could’ve let her finish.”

“Give us your wallet.” The guy who’d commanded his date to leave, spoke up.

“So you’re the leader… the one I need to take out first,” God answered.

“What?” the punk said with a confused look. His hair was pulled back and tucked under a black skullcap. There wasn’t anything notable about his attire… any of them actually.

God quickly brought his steel-toed boot up hard into the man’s midsection, easily causing him to crumble onto the concrete. While the other two were shocked at his move, he used that to his advantage and rounded on the second guy. He threw a right hook, catching the man's cheek, and heard a loud crack at the sound of his jaw shattering. God growled, swiftly spun around, and gripped the third around his neck, driving him back into the wall so hard his eyes crossed when his skull made contact with the unforgiving bricks.

God could no longer see the faces of the men, only a red and orange haze. He heard taunting voices in his mind spurring him on, calling him a “pussy,” and saw old, hairy hands reaching out to grab him. His gripped tightened on the punk’s neck and he cocked his right arm back, ready to do some serious damage.

“Let him go.”

God shook his head at the familiar deep voice.

“I said, let him go now!”

He felt two strong hands land on his shoulders and heat seeped its way into him from behind.

“Put him down, God. Right now, before you kill him. Listen to my voice.” Day was up on his tiptoes speaking into his ear. His breath was hot on his neck and it made his spine tingle. “Cashel, stop,” Day whispered.

God put his right arm down and released the man from his grip. He didn’t wait to see the man’s body drop. He spun around, looked into his friend’s eyes, and was relieved when he didn’t see judgment, sorrow, or pity… all he saw was relief and then concern. Day grabbed him and held on to him tightly. His embrace was strong and confident… exactly what God needed to feel right then.
