Which led me to now, stomping over to his house in the dead of night, realizing that one night with Tide Crow had broken me.

Clearly, I hadn’t thought the night before out well.

If I had, I would’ve realized that a man like Tide was addictive.

A man like Tide wouldn’t only get me once and get tired of me. He’d have me multiple times. He’d ring me dry, use me all up, then toss me aside in his own time.

I growled as I shoved the key into the handle, unlocked the door, and then slammed it closed behind me.

I left it open because I knew he’d be home soon.

I’d played this song and dance multiple times—listening for him to come home—knowing the signs and sounds of his motorcycle turning off the highway at least a mile away.

“Stupid fucking biker,” I growled to myself as I walked through his house and turned every single light on as I did it. “This is such a horrible idea.”

And it was.

What had I been thinking?

The obvious answer? I wasn’t.

I’d been feeling.

And we all knew what feeling did—it made you stupid.

“I’m so going to regret this,” I grumbled to myself. “I just know it.”

Except, the closer and closer I heard his bike come to our location, the more my body started to tingle in anticipation.

I started stripping off my clothes, and the moment I was naked on his bed, I heard his bike pull up outside his house.

Lights flashed, and then I heard his footsteps as he headed inside his house.

My breathing sped up the closer he got to his room.

The thing was, when he finally breached the doorway of his bedroom, he didn’t look the least bit surprised to find me there.

His hands clenched as he said, “I bought condoms.”

Condoms.

Those sounded horrible.

But since I wasn’t on birth control, they were a necessary evil.

“Can you get on birth control tomorrow?” he asked.

I snorted. “It’s not like I can just call my doctor tomorrow—seeing as it’s Saturday—and ask for birth control. I think I have to make an appointment.”

His fingers unclenched and he reached up to the armhole on the left side of his body, and then tore his scrub top off sideways.

The movement was so swift and clean that had I not just seen it with my own eyes, I would’ve thought the move impossible.

“How did you…” I started to say, but he cut me off with his mouth on mine.

One second he’d been across the room, and the next he was on top of me, pushing me backward on the bed using his body weight.

“You realize that I’m a doctor, right?” he teased as he pulled back, both of us breathing heavily. “I can call in your birth control.”

“Then you’ll know that I have to wait until my next period to start it, which is next week,” I countered. “And I didn’t forget that you were a doctor. I forgot that you could give me prescriptions. I was only thinking about the fact that…”

I trailed off when his lips started a path down the length of my body.

Before Tide, I would’ve said that my nipples, and breasts in general, weren’t all that sensitive.

But when his lips wrapped around one, I realized that maybe you don’t get the same kind of stimulation from touching your own breasts as you do when someone else touches them.

I refused to think it was only Tide that could elicit these types of reactions in me.

But the more he sucked, licked, and nibbled on my nipples, the more I realized that my mind was solely focused on him. That knowing it was him doing these things to me was making me so hot.

“You’re killing me,” I gasped as my hands came up to rest in his hair. “Please.”

He pulled back, his eyes hot and his lips bright red and glossy from his attentions to both of my nipples. Both of my nipples that were so hard and distended right now that they looked obscene.

“I’ve often seen those,” he growled, his voice gravelly and yummy and grrrrr. “And thought about how much I wanted to pinch them. Suck them. You can’t believe how hard I’ve tried to keep my shit under check. To make sure that I didn’t cross that line when we were younger.”

I swallowed thickly past a lump in my throat, then allowed myself to take in his body.

His cut was still fresh looking on his jaw, and there were a few bruises forming along his jawline that hadn’t been there this morning.

Hell, my own bruising on my face was horrible.

It looked like I’d gone three rounds with Mike Tyson.

But the way Tide was staring at me? You wouldn’t think that I looked bad at all.

“What’s with that look on your face?” he asked as he slowly started to untie his scrub bottoms.
