So he would be doing that thing where he talked to his girlfriend without letting his girlfriend know who she was talking to. She kind of wanted to be there when this Mae person found out. She’d overheard Kyle and his uncle arguing about training. Kyle didn’t think his beloved needed to know how to deball a man, but she was with Tag on this one.

“Thank god I had my laptop with me or my mom would have buried it,” Kyle groused.

Drake offered to let her go first. “I’ll be in that dungeon tonight. If you want a session, we can start there. No sex if you are uninterested. You know how this goes. I’m the Dom but you have all the control. It’s how it should be. Now come and sit with me. I’ll tell you what everything is and which fork to use. See, I can be helpful.”

She followed him in. That was Drake. Helpful and oh so dangerous.

* * * *

“What the fuck does that mean?” Kyle was in the locker room, which he claimed had the best Internet connection, but he wasn’t playing his game.

His stepfather looked back from the locker he’d been assigned for the night. “I think it means she’s not going to be going on that raid with you.”

Drake wished Taylor was here. She liked the Kyle drama, and he was playing it hard right now. They’d watched Sean try to mediate between his wife and stepson at dinner this evening, with Ian taking on the role of the imp who poked at everyone. It had been very amusing. “Well, she might get raided, just not online.”

MaeBe had sent “Kraven” a DM explaining that she’d gotten an invite to this club she enjoyed going to and was taking the night off from virtual life to have a real one.

Tag snorted but then stared Drake’s way. “Don’t wind him up.”

But it was fun to wind Kyle up. And he kind of deserved this. “Come on. We all know what club she’s talking about.”

“She doesn’t go to Sanctum anymore,” Kyle insisted.

“No, she didn’t go to Sanctum for a while. She certainly didn’t give up her membership,” Tag corrected. He glanced down at his phone. “And according to Charlie, she’s absolutely at Sanctum.”

“What the hell is Charlotte doing at Sanctum without you?” Kyle shook his head like the world suddenly made no sense to him. “Speaking of, why are you getting into leathers?”

“First, Charlie is hiding from the kids. Boomer and Daphne are hosting a slumber party at our house where she’s teaching all the kids how to make cake or something. I don’t know. All I know is Charlie was left with all five of our kiddos, and Carys and Luke. Which means at some point Tristan and Aidan will show up.”

Sean’s head dropped. “I don’t want to hear that.”

From what he’d been able to put together, Carys Taggart had two boyfriends, and Sean Taggart was having to deal with the fact that his teenaged daughter was dating two guys who didn’t mind sharing her.

In what he’d been promised was a wholesome way. Wholesome sharing.

The evening had been fun.

“All I’m saying is there’s a lot of drama surrounding those kids, and she deserves a night off,” Tag argued. “Also, how am I going to keep up with Sanctum drama if my baby is dealing with kid drama? And I’m here because I’m keeping Charlie in the loop on the local drama. She wants to know if the new girl is going to take Drake’s ball sac.”

“Could we stop talking about ball sacs? Like you do that a lot. You’re obsessed with ball sacs.” Damn, but he’d missed locker room talk. He’d spent the last several months working and working and…yep…working. He’d neglected this side of himself, and he was starting to understand it was because he’d been a dumbass about Taylor. He’d missed her and punished himself for not going after her.

“Well, my ball sac is empty now,” Tag pointed out. “So I have to find my fun elsewhere.”

“Because you used to have fun with your ball sac?” Sean asked, settling his vest over his chest.

“So much fun. It was my best friend,” Tag replied. “And according to my Charlie, MaeBe is totally at Sanctum and she’s ready to play. I think it’s good she’s getting back out there. She’s gone through her mourning period and is ready to get in the saddle again.”

Tag hadn’t wanted Kyle wound up? “I don’t think she was ever in the saddle. Not with Kyle. He never got that far. That’s probably why she didn’t need long to mourn him.”

“Who the fuck is she playing with?” Kyle ran a hand through his hair, shoving it back.

Tag looked down to his phone. “She’s apparently hanging out in the lounge right now, but the night is young. She’s been spending some time with West Rycroft, from what I understand.”
