“It’s a date,” she said with a slow smile.

He had to be careful with her. He knew what it meant to feel vulnerable, and he didn’t want to put her in that position. She should know he would take care of her. He took a deep breath and kissed her one more time, this one a soft touch of his lips to hers. “It’s a date. And if you want to wait until then, I can do that. You’re worth the wait. We can turn on those bad movies and simply enjoy each other’s company.”

“Or…” Her eyes had widened, and she made no attempt to move from his lap. “You could kiss me again and see where it goes.”

“I know where it will go.”

“Tell me.”

“This ends with you in bed with me. If we make it to the bed. I need you to understand that.” He let his hand move along her hip, tracing her curves. She was wearing pajama bottoms, a sweatshirt, and thick socks. The cold wasn’t conducive to tank tops, but he’d gotten glimpses of how gorgeous she was. He wanted her naked, but he had to make a few things clear first. “Taylor, I’m going to be in control of this.”

“In control?” Her lips quirked up. “Like tie me up in control.”

“If that’s what you like.”

“I’ve never tried it. I would be open to experimenting. Despite all the glamor of traveling the world with my spy dad, you should understand that I have way more experience hacking the CCTV cameras in a public area than I do with sex,” she admitted. “I’ve had a couple of boyfriends, but we move around a lot, and one-night stands never held much appeal.”

He’d had his share of them, but he was far more interested in having an actual relationship than he cared to admit. She made him feel vulnerable. She scared the fuck out of him, but he couldn’t quite make himself walk away. Not when he was so close. His hand slipped under the heavy sweatshirt, and he felt soft, warm skin. “A lot of my experience came from a woman who is still a friend of mine. I met her when I was in my early twenties and while I wasn’t a virgin at the time, I also hadn’t had real sex until I met her.”

“Real sex?”

He shouldn’t be talking about this. “I thought sex was quick and that women were like men and got off fast. No one had complained. She complained. A lot. And then offered to teach me. When I think about it, I had a sex tutor, and she was older than my mom and she was hot. She was also into BDSM.”

Taylor gasped, but her eyes lit with mirth. “She wanted you to spank her?”

He liked how comfortable he was with her. Comfortable enough to really talk. “Not exactly.”

“Drake,” she began, that smile widening. “Did she spank you?”

It made it way easier for him to be open with her. “Yes. And she tied me up and basically taught me everything I know about pleasure. I loved her. I wasn’t in love with her. I figured out the difference. We were friends and she helped me through some rough times. What I’m trying to explain is that I know who I am when it comes to sex now. I know I prefer to top a woman. I’d like the chance to top you, Taylor.”

A single brow arched. “What would this entail? Because I was planning on falling in bed with you and then like walking away the next morning and going back to my harem of men.”

There would be none of that, but he liked that she teased him. Too many people in his life put him in a box where he didn’t have a single emotion, no needs past getting his job done.

He wanted more.

He stood, hoisting her up without a problem. He liked the weight of her in his arms, liked how her eyes widened and her arms tightened around him. “First it means that harem of men has to go. Any harem you happen to have. I know people who don’t mind sharing their subs, but you’ll find I’m a possessive top. And when we get back to the States, I’m going to properly court you.”

“That sounds very old fashioned.”

“What I’m about to do to you isn’t. Or maybe it is. I’ve got an old mentor who claims people have always been perverts and we should accept it.” He walked through the hallway to his bedroom where he’d spent every night since he’d gotten here thinking about her. “But I promise when we get back home, I’ll show you around DC. We won’t just be about sex. If you like, we can go to a club and explore the lifestyle further.”
