She answered with a hesitant, “Yes but—”

“No buts. Let’s just play this thing by ear okay?” He pressed his lips against hers before she could utter any further protest.

She whimpered beneath his mouth before enthusiastically returning his kiss. She broke away with a shake of her head. “I can’t believe I let you do this to me.”

He chuckled at her denial. “You were an active participant. And I’ll let you in on a little secret.”

“What?”

“We’re just getting started.”

Riley stretched like a satisfied cat as she burrowed within the comforting warmth of her blanket. She’d had the most delicious dream about her and Ethan. Her eyes popped open. Riley rose into a sitting position. The other side of her bed was empty but there were plenty of signs that it was once occupied. His scent still clung to the sheets and there was still an imprint of Ethan’s head on her spare pillow. Her muscles ached from exertion. She winced as she slid off the bed. Her pussy was sore.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a white piece of paper on her nightstand. She picked up the note in Ethan’s crisp handwriting and read: Had to run to the office. Didn’t want to wake you. I’ll be in touch. Ethan.

She groaned remembering how they’d gone at it throughout the night until the first light of dawn. Riley blushed as she remembered all the positions they’d tried, and all the places his tongue had been. Damn she was easy.

Riley headed straight to the shower, not bothering to check if Ethan was still lurking somewhere in her house. If he was, she’d face him once she could fully process what had happened. As she stood under the stinging spray of the hot water, Riley cursed herself for being all kinds of a fool. She’d told herself if she ever ran into Ethan again, she’d show him he didn’t mean anything to her. She’d wanted him to eat his heart out. Instead, she’d fallen into his arms again, with little struggle.

The man had some kind of hold over her she couldn’t explain. It had been that way since they’d first met through Megan. When Riley was fourteen, her mother had been promoted to another branch in the company she worked for. It required Sheila to move the family closer to her new office. Her mother had been unsatisfied with the public school system in the city so she’d enrolled her girls into private school. It was there where the two fourteen-year-olds had met. They’d shared the same classes and struck up a friendship. Soon, the two had become inseparable.

One of Megan’s favorite subjects was her big brother Ethan. Because he was eight years older, he’d already moved out of the house, so Riley had only caught glimpses of him in pictures. Megan would gush over how Ethan had graduated summa cum laude from college and then how well he was doing in law school. It was at their high school graduation when Riley finally met ‘Ethan the Great’ in person.

He was everything his sister had made him out to be and more. In Riley’s eighteen-year-old mind, Ethan Boudreaux was the epitome of what all men should be: tall, gorgeous, witty, with a great body. Whenever their paths crossed Riley hung on his every word. He had a larger-than-life personality, and she was in love. From then on, all the guys she’d dated were boys in her mind.

Riley kept her crush a secret even when she’d started college because she figured he was way out of her league. By then he was a rising star in one of the most prestigious law firms in the city and dated women who looked like supermodels.

Megan had continued her secondary education at an out of state university, but the Boudreauxs insisted Riley visit often, which she did. One of those times she’d stopped by for dinner and Ethan had put in a rare appearance as well to her surprise. While she was normally relaxed around the friendly older couple, with Ethan there, she barely spoke unless someone initiated conversation with her first and Riley kept her head down throughout the meal. She was scared if she made eye contact with Ethan she’d say or do something stupid to embarrass herself.

She made her excuses after the meal but to her despair, her car wouldn’t start. Ethan had offered to take her home. She would never forget the tense ride home. It was a turning point in her relationship with Ethan.

Riley pressed her head against the shower wall as the memories came flooding back. She recalled that night as if it had happened yesterday.

Riley kept her hands tightly folded together in her lap. She looked straight ahead, trying desperately not to steal a peek at Ethan’s powerful profile. The scent of his cologne made her body tingle and she was thankful for the thick sweater she wore because it concealed her tightened nipples. She pressed her thighs tightly together so as not squirm in her seat.
